How was your INSANITY month 1 results?

Hello, I finished month 1 of INSANITY yesterday. I took my measurements and progress pics this morning and I have to say I'm extremely disappointed. I have consistently lost weight each week (5lbs total lost in August so far) but I expected to see more results as far as my measurements go and I certainly expected to see some difference in my progress pics. I've been working really hard and not just doing insanity but I also run three days a week and do some strength training.
Just wondering if anyone else felt like they didn't see a big difference after the first month?

I've tried Insanity, but not long enough to measure any results that I could contribute strictly to that program. I will say that it seems you're doing a whole lot of cardio these days. Are you making sure to get all of your cals in? I recently lost a lot of weight by strength training 3x a week, followed by 1 hour cardio, then supplementing that with 2 cardio days of TurboFire. But because I was doing so much cardio and not making up those calories in my daily intake, I'd burned lean muscle mass and very little body fat. So, I didn't see the results in my body as I'd hoped. It was disappointing as well. I've since "restarted" my journey. So be careful not to over exercise and under consume. That's keep you from "seeing" the results you desire.0

Hi Kasmir, that's a very good point and something I have been more concerned about lately. Running and insanity is a lot of cardio and I wasn't doing enough strength so I have been trying to incorporate a strength training routine 3 days a week from bodybuilding.com. I plan to cut back running to 2 days a week in month 2 of insanity and add in strength three days a week. I am hoping that will help. I don't necessarily follow the "eat exercise cals" mantra. I eat when I'm hungry. If I'm more hungry, I eat more and if that means eating some of the exercise cals back then they get eaten. But it's not everyday that I'm feeling hungry enough to eat those cals back. My current daily goal set by MFP is 1410 calories and most days I get that in, some days more, some days less. When I look at pictures of myself I can cleary see that I am smaller and my clothes are definitely fitting better. I have actually had to clean out my closet because most things are way too big for now But when I take pics in shorts and a sports bra I don't feel like there's much lean muscle so I am very concerned about becoming "skinny fat". I don't know how much more calories I need to eat because I am consistently losing weight with the 1400 now. I know month 2 of insanity says you need to eat more but I'm afraid if I eat too much more then I will stop losing weight. My plan after I finish insanity is to do P90X or Chalean Extreme and focus more on strength training and cut back a bit on cardio. I hope that will help.

I just restarted Insanity tonight Insanity today, and Oh MY it is killer! Shawn T, I better see some results in a month. I plan to do Insanity 4 times a week, and strength training and walking two other days. It does seem to be a lot of wear and tear on your body!!0
