I hope I can stay on track

Its hard to be on a diet when I'm surrounded with people who loves to eat. One of the reason I've gained weight because my friends love to feed me foods all the time. I can't say no because who can't say no to free food right? I felt so emotional yesterday because my friend bought my fav burger and eat in front of me while I'm doing the intermittent fasting. I hope I can keep being strong and stay on track.

A time came when I had to put my foot down. It was necessary or I would have never gotten my goals off the ground. The people around me meant well, nobody was trying to sabotage my efforts. But they simply did not know how important it was that I improve my health. Once I began to open up, their support became palpable.
So I’ve had to learn how to say no; no to eating out like the way we used to, no to eating everything in front of me like the way I used to, and no to snacking like the way I used to. And learn how to be consistent, because you are what you do, not what you say you’re going to do.
Some days can be harder than others; birthday parties, holiday gatherings, etc. But my goal wasn’t just to lose weight, that’s the easy part. One of my achievements was to learn and develop the skills and self-control i needed to enjoy these occasions without obsessing about the food, or taking it to either extreme (not eating anything, eating everything), and/or without excluding myself.
You will find what works for you as more time passes; triggers, vulnerability, true hunger, etc). In the meantime, be patient with yourself and do not look at food as good or bad. Food is food. Habits are good or bad.5 -
@sugarcakes38 yeah thats true. I have to be strong and say no to them whenever they try to sabotage my diet. Food is food! Thank you for the motivation.1

What I helped me was eating what I wanted but with moderation. Lasagna? Yes but only a small bit and I enjoyed it as much as possible. It’s absolutely hard telling someone who means well that you’re out of calories for the day but if you have a little bit, then they will see how serious you are and only then will they get what you are aiming for.
Hope this helps 💕1 -
@xynthea26 yeah i do that now...like a pinch of a garlic bread. lol. It won't ruined my diet right? I feel so anxious with counting calories now..1

Learn to say no, thank you.
Tell your friends that losing weight is important to you and you feel they are sabotaging your efforts
Don't hang around them at meal times.2 -
@LyndaBSS okay, I will. I have to show them that I'm serious this time.1
