Okay - I'm absolutely losing it.

I am trying to look up the nutritional information for a California Roll. So far what I have found is that the "number of pieces" can mean either the number of rolls AND the number of items that make up the roll (avacado, fake crab meat, rice, etc). So now I have no idea how to log this.

HELP!

  • looked up california roll. There are 2 listed.
california rolls (plural) is the whole roll.
    california roll is 1 piece.

    Hope that helps.
That is how I understood it anyway.
    Good luck.

BTW: Try humachi (yellow fin tuna) yum yum

you could try building a ca roll (search for rice, avocado, etc) and see what that number is for comparison...
  • If you find the answer, please post...

Too funny! I had sushi Saturday night and was looking up the same thing on Sunday. What I found is a "roll" has (approx.) 6 pieces. A "roll" (6 pieces) = approx. 250-300 calories. Most other (single) sushi pieces = 40-60 calories (so I figure about 50 calories per piece). There is no 100% way of knowing the exact calorie count of sushi unless you make it yourself and measure/count every calorie.
  • List: Sushi Bar
    Food: California Roll [Southern Tsunami]
    Serving Listed: 1 pack of 12 pieces, 9.6 oz=273 g

    Results:
Calories Protein Fat Carbs Fiber Sodium
    361.0 10.0 6.0 66.0 3.0 637.0

Comes out to be 30 calories in one piece

    LOL...FINALLY - I found the answer:

    http://www.genjiweb.com/genji/genji_express_nutrition.html

Apparently, it depends on with or without cream cheese, and/or oil. The numbers I needed were without. This is shown per each.

Life shouldn't be this complicated
