Hello, I’m Marisela 32 and I need to lose about 30 pounds. Today is day two of counting my calories I’m doing about 1360 a day. Any tips or motivational message is appreciated! ❤️ I start going to the gym tomorrow I just don’t know where to start, I was thinking doing cardio for about an hour and do more as I learn.

Welcome!

    Welcome to the community! <3

If you haven't already, read the stickies at the top of the getting started forum. Very informative and helpful.

Don't go full bore at the gym, if you're just starting. Start off slowly and gently.

    Good luck with your journey!

Motivation doesn't work. Why? Because it wanes so quickly. You'll be motivated one minute and the next... Not so much. You'll be motivated on Monday, and Wednesday... Nope. Go to the gym at 5am? You nuts! Ha. I found an easier and more productive way. It's called the 5 sec rule. If you need to do anything, count down 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 and GO! Don't listen to your brain. It will lie to you. Don't overthink. Just go, and do it. Good luck.

Now how do you know I was starting the gym tomorrow at 5am ha! Only time I can get it in 😓 but I really want it so I gotta do it. Thank you ✨

In the past, I've always started an exercise routine with cardio.

I start at 25-30 minutes 3 days a week and build up from there.

As my body would adjust, I would increase length, intensity, and add a day.

Once I dropped some of my weight, I added in some light strength (10-20 minutes) after cardio.

    Good luck! You can lose!

Well done. I use Twitter for motivational messages every morning. Maybe that is something that would help you also?

not sure if you have any goals beyond weight loss.... but for weight alone, just track everything accurately and do your best to track it before you eat it. If you do that and you want to succeed, you'll start making the choices that work for you (be it more veggies, smaller portions, low carb, IF, whatever...) I don't have any rules for myself but I choose things that fit my calories... which is usually not ice cream or pizza if I want to have more than one meal... lol.
