I started the program on 8-11. I have stuck with it every day and I have lost 7 pounds. I know I need to be better about the exercise portion. The problem I am having is that at the end of each day I am not "coming out even" on my numbers. If I have eaten my quota of carbs I may still have 200-300 calories to go or I am over on my protein. I have always been under on my fat number. Any suggestions? Also, I had been having great progress and then my weight went back up by about a pound. I realize there is fluctuation from day to day but it is still upsetting. I have about 80 lbs to go.

That's about the same day that I joined and I am stuck...I am charting and I am walking and I am trying. At first it seemed like I had a hard time eating enough calories but lately I have been over on fats and proteins...less than a 10 but still upsetting but the scale keeps going from 240-237.8 and I can't get any consistent loss that stays with me. I've been trying harder on the water. I haven't done much for weight training but I faithfully walk at least 5 days a week with my Golden Doodle. The nurse who pointed me to this website suggested I might have a Thyroid problem, I got for my annual on Thursday so will know something soon. I think I had been eating too little or too many sweets on some days but I have been trying very hard.
I sure could use a friend to help me through this. I would love to lose another 80 lbs. also. At my top of my weight I was close to 290 and that was a wake up call. Got down to 225 a year ago in June but it has been creeping back on and I have to stop it.
Would love to add you as a friend so we can support each other.0 -
Glad to know it is not just me. I think I could really use a friend to keep me going.
I do have thyroid problems also. I am currently on medication.
How far do you walk?0 -
I walk 1- 1.5 miles about 5 times a week with my dog. Sometimes my husband will join me but it is extremely hot here in Texas right now and it is usually about 88 in the morning when I am walking. High humidity and lately no breeze...the breeze really helps and some shade from trees that line the streets around my neighborhood...but not all of them have shade. Add me as a friend and I will do likewise. We can do this. I am taking my logs with me to the doctor so he can see what I am doing. Becky0

I live in Orlando, FL. It is really hot and humid here as well. I have a treadmill and frequently just walk at home when I get home from work. I have a gym membership but I haven't gone in awhile. I really need to get back to that, at least a couple of days a week. My husband travels a lot for work so I could easily go early in the morning or after work, if I would just do it.
I have been referred to a cardiologist for some heart issues and I am undergoing tests right now then he will give me a treatment plan so I am not allowed to do anything to strenuous right now. I lost both of my parents two years ago, within 4 months of each other and I really let myself go after that happened. I turned to food for comfort and to deal with my grief. Not a good idea...0 -
You know I lost my Mom almost 7 years ago and I also lost my Mother in Law the same year 20 days later. My husband spent the last 4 months of her life with her and then he had to stay and handle the estate which took another couple of months. It was a stressful time for us and then we got my Dad to come live with us for 3 months but he was not happy and went back to Florida(Ft. Myers). This past year has been dealing with his health issues and putting him in an assisted living home and trying to get VA help, stolen items from his condo and then another break in and all of mine and my Mom's jewelry stolen....Not able to get a job...laid off(actually forced to resign from my teacher position because it would be better for me) in May of 2010 so I have had no income since Sept 1 of 2010 and I have gone through all of my savings paying for health insurance. Trying to sub this year but no jobs as yet.
I was thin until I got married and then the weight just piled on - 60 lbs in one year...never fat as a child. Then three babies and I really ballooned up to almost 290 but got down to 240s but then it went back to 278 and then the Principal from hell and The good thing was I lost 50 lbs and I was 225 when I had my knee surgery - total knee replacements June 1 and July 13 of 2010 while I still had good insurance and what a relief. I had needed surgery since I was young..knee problems since I was 18. Long before I was heavy.
Well you can see that stress has had an effect on my weight. I am in pretty good shape really...my parents had other issues besides bad knees( they had those also). I am thankful that I have kept my health for the most part.0 -
The doctor was not that supportive...my nurse that calls from BCBS said that she wanted my thyroid checked and Doc said that he does every year and he didn't think that was it. He says that not all diets work and that my metabolism might be different than someone else my size. He wants me to up the exercise and cut the calories and use a weight watcher type diet. We will see what the blood work shows and I will try to do what he wants. I'm going to find some other things to do for muscle building. Ups the metabolism I guess.
Oh I'm south and east of Dallas, tx at Cedar Creek Lake.0 -

Thank you for pointing me in this direction....I found this post there" Living With Obesity At 700 Calories Per Day!
By: David Greenwalt " that was so helpful and even more helpful than my Doctor's. I hope others who are frustrated won't give up and read his post.0 -

I still don't get anywhere no matter, I have upped my water and I am trying the doctor said I wasn't normal or average and that I wasn't eating right. I usually am not over on anything...maybe three times since I started this. I still am playing with the same 2 lbs. I am faithfully recording what I am doing and what is going in my mouth. I just get frustrated. I would like to see this weight go away without starvation...that does work. I know.0
