Hi there!

I want to try to incorporate more weight training into my routine but that whole area of the gym can seem really overwhelming to me without any instruction (I guess that's why I gravitate to classes and cardio).

Does anyone have any recommendations for good apps that have basic/intermediate weight routines/resistance training?

I'm looking for a list of exercises with photos demonstrating proper form, ideally.

Thanks!!

I haven't found any good apps, but bodybuilding.com is an awesome site with great videos and pictures!
  • Ig you've got an iPhone, try iBooks with some of the men's/women's health books...theyve actually got some videos embedded into the book. Also I think gym buddy(app) might have it as well, I could be wrong but check it out.

have you looked at iFitness? It's got photos, a written explanation, and, in some cases, videos.

For free iPhone apps search the following: Arm Workout (red icon w/stick figure doing over head presses). You will also find,Butt workout (Purple icon w/stick figure), Ab Workout (Blue icon w/stick figure doing crunches) and so much more. I have used them and fine them very useful.

I love fitness buddy on my iPad...I got it free during a promotion so I don't know if it's still free but it has tons of info, already set up workouts or you can build your own from hundreds of already existing moves. It also gives great demos of each move.
  • Thanks guys!! I downloaded the free arm, ab, and butt workouts and the fitness buddy! They look like exactly what I was looking for. Thanks agin for the help!

    Hey!!!

Try strong lifts 5x5... It's an awesome starter weight lifting program that's easy to follow.
