On day 1 I’ve taken in 1,126 more calories than my plan instructs lol

No day is a fail. Learn from your experience and move on.
Many actually recommend starting your weight loss with a week of eating as you always have but weighing and logging everything. This way you have an honest record of what you are eating and when. From here it is easier to see where you can cut back on calories by making sustainable changes. Just make a change at a time and when you feel comfortable with that, make another. You can gradually lower calories to achieve your desired deficit, rather than reducing it all at once too. It may take longer to see results, but you are more likely to succeed long term.8 -

Don't beat yourself up. In the long term a few steps back won't derail your weight loss. You'll do better tomorrow and the day after and so on... Just do't give up. Are you following your MFP guidelines? You may be too aggressive with your deficit. The process does work. Just don't try to rush it along. This is a marathon not a sprint. Good luck and stay focused...4

But....you are concious of/aware of what you consumed, when you went over, and you tracked it. I'm guessing you didnt track previously, so you're still a step ahead on day 1 from where you likely were yesterday. So, not a failure, a step in the right direction.
I went over DOUBLE my calories on one of my first days. It was a reality check in terms of my previously being completely unaware of how much I was actually consuming normally. I could clearly see my mistake and make adjustments for the next day so that I was more successful.
Don't let it discourage you. And don't eat yourself up about it. Learn from it and plan accordingly to try to be more successful tomorrow. Keep logging, whether you slip up or not tomorrow, you'll learn from it.

Each day is not a "succeed or fail" enterprise, with the score being reset for the next round. It's all cumulative. You started. You counted. You have data you didn't have yesterday. That's something!5

Try logging into your food diary a few days in advance. That really helped me in the beginning. I wake up, weigh myself, and my day is already planned food-wise.
If I want to eat something additional, I look to see if I have the calories available. If not, I don't eat it.
It not only keeps me disciplined, I'm also excited about the meals I've prelogged. Instead of being stressed out about food, I'm looking forward to my meals.
This method worked so well for me when I started 3 months ago, I still do it. ☺0 -
