what do you class light cleaning and what's moderate?
I've done a right mixture today, I've been hovering, scrubbing floors, cleaning cupboard doors and skirting boards, cleaned the fridge, bath, shower, sinks, toilets. Cleaned dishes window frames. Changed bedding wiped down doors. I just don't really know where it all falls!

I think scrubbing counts as moderate. I log it because I don't do it every day ;-)0

I disagree, that sounds like heavy cleaning to me and I'd log it. You will get a boatload of answers on this one most saying not to log it. If you felt like you did more than you do in a normal day, it's above your activity level and so you should log it.0 -
I'd deffinatly say that's moderate/heavy.
I guess light would be moping up.0 -
I'd definitely class anything that includes "major scrubbing" under moderate cleaning.
I think light cleaning is intended for simple chores, like doing the dishes or dusting.0 -
Unless it's what I think of as spring cleaning (moving furniture, boxes, etc) I don't log it. Even when I get down and scrub the floors. I did it when I got fat so it obviously wasn't a real workout. I'm set to sedentary so I probably COULD log it but I feel like it's a disservice to myself.0

If you don't do it everyday, log it as moderate for the scrubbing.0

It depends on how it stack up against your daily routine.0

I always log mine under the light, moderate listing on MFP. I don't think I ever do anything that could be considered heavy or vigorous cleaning. LOL But i always log it because my level is set to sedentary & the most strenuous cleaning I do daily is load the dishwasher.0

I always clasify my cleaning as light/moderate. I figure it's better if i underestimate calories burned during exercise and overestimate when I have to guess on calories consumed. I figure that way you can only come out ahead. And I complety disagree with whoever said don't log it. Why not? It's is calorie burning. And sometimes for us time-crunched moms and/or professionals it's the only cardio we can squeeze into our day. Good for you for killing two birds with one stone!0

If I dont do it every day I log it. With a crying baby I do a deep clean 2/3 days a week and log that as general x0

Some have made a good point: it depends what your lifestyle is catagorized as in MFP. Mine is Sedatary because I commute in a car and sit at a desk for 8 hours. When I clean it really is my body FINALLY getting to move. If you have listed yourself as active and this is a normal part of your movement during the day, then I guess it doesn't count. Only you really know. Good luck!0

Thanks guys! My activity level is set to sedatary, but as a sahm of two that's probably wrong anyway! It was a particularly involved clean today not the usual quick once over! I've got visitors this weekend so am having a 'spring clean'0
