If you are new to posting on this thread, or if you are new to cycling, We welcome you! If you are returning from a previous thread, We welcome you, too.

This thread is for anyone who rides a bicycle ... or unicycle, tricycle, tandem, etc.

Do you bike to work? Do you pull your children to the park? So you ride weekends? Do you spin at home or in the gym? Is Zwift your thing? Do you race crits, ironman, or centuries? Or, are you just starting out and remembering how much fun you had biking when you were a kid? However you choose to push your pedal, you are welcome on this thread.

There's no set challenge across participants - this is a mixed-ability / mixed-experience / everyone welcome group. Just pick your own target that you want to achieve this month, post that when you join the thread, and post updates throughout the month as you're working towards your target.

    Slightly odd goal this month - to cycle 477 miles.
    (It just takes me to a nice round figure in Strava!)

    Struggling a bit with the ongoing conflict of strength training my legs for knee ligament rehab and cycling, takes the edge off my performance, typically feel it half way up a hill....
    That's my excuse anyway and I'm sticking to it. :smiley:

    Sept 2 - 4.5 trail miles

    Quiet cycling week for me with only 61 miles. 226 for the month.

    Examination by two separate Physios which involved pulling and twisting my injured knee to try and see if there's cartilage damage as well as the ligament injury was inconclusive but made my knee very sore.

    Seems positively archaic in the 21st century to be diagnosing injury by inflicting pain.....

    I thought the same thing when my physios were doing something similar with my right hip.

    Fortunately an MRI was ordered.

    Only 50 miles this week.
    Seemed to come down with a bug which had me feeling ultra fatgued on what was just an easy paced ride so took some days off the bike and exercise in general.

    And then I got hit by a car!

    Having big lungs isn't just a fitness advantage - also gives me a very loud shout. :smiley:
    Loud enough to make the car driver hit the brakes instead of the accelerator when he seemed determined to T-bone me at a junction.
    Glad I reacted very quickly and swerved away enough to reduce the contact down to a slight bump and managed to unclip as well to avoid being knocked over. No damage done but it was a close call.

    Driver couldn't explain how he didn't see me on a day with perfect visibility when I'm dressed in bright clothing and even having flashing lights.

    Very poor exercise week - I've managed to add to my knee woes with fat pad (a.k.a. Hoffa's pad) impingment.
    Although it's not serious it is very painful and limited my exercise including cycling, just 41 miles in a couple of rides.
