Weights for Belly Fat?

I have the classic issue of "skinny fat" and I'm just looking for some exercises involving weight lifting that are good for toning the core and building lean muscle mass (I'm a female, by the way). Any suggestions of things that have worked for you?

    Exercise for fitness and body composition. Calorie deficit for fat loss. Consider a recomp where you do weight training, eat at maintenance and slowly gain muscle while losing fat. It changes you body shape at the same weight. But slowly. Put on your patient pants.
