Lost 3 pounds so far...lol. I’m feeling good about it but how do I stay on the straight and narrow in the weekends? That seems to be where temptation hits you the most.

What is the "straight and narrow?" What does that mean to you? What are the temptations?

My diet on the whole is pretty good, but I've never been super restrictive with anything. I have never prescribed to endless salads and bland or boring meals like plain chicken and endless broccoli while losing weight or in maintenance. Eating healthy can also be very delicious...also, a couple slices of pizza on Friday night isn't going to hurt anything (we have pizza night most Friday nights at home).

For myself, weekends are also when I have more time to get out and be active...long bike rides, hiking in the mountains, rock climbing, etc.

I treat every day of the week the same when it comes to my food choices. I'm committed to my new lifestyle.

    Good luck with your choices.

Exactly...same here..I will have pizza on Friday for supper..just two slices though and that is it. I allow myself chips the odd time but again in moderation so I buy an individual bag and then eat half and save the other half for another day.

I do not deny myself anything but just eat less of what I want daily. If we have something from a burger place I will order a kids size or just small hamburger and small fries and maybe have half of a sundae for dessert or something like that. Yes I am not stuffed but I still feel okay after. I definently could eat more but choose not to..to me I do not believe in denying yourself anything just eat less of what you want to eat.

You will be amazed at after eating less for a while you do fill up faster when you start eating.

I work out a lot as well...30 minute kickboxing 5 to 6 times a week as well as one hour hikes 2 to 3 times per week.

In the early days I used to plan distractions, it didn't work well, so now I don't fight it, I go with it. I'm not saying this is the best advice but it works for me, I'm doing keto and plan Saturday as my long run day (I'm slowly building up to a half-marathon in January, but I have done long bike rides and hard work outs). I have a sensible breakfast and do my exercise and burn those carbs out, then in the evening I can have my re-feed (aka cheat day) and include my alcoholic weapons of choice. I do light exercise the Sunday and use a Keto-Mojo to check my glucose and ketones and I'm usually still in ketosis. I'm still dropping weight with no plateaus or gains now for 2 months. If distractions may help the arrange things to do at the key times you know you might crumble. Like scheduling a run or ride, going to the movies, making sure there's no big temptations in the fridge (beer and food).

I travel a lot for work, I entertain people for dinners/drinks for work, I have breakfast meetings, take donuts to the job sites, take beer to the GCs trailer....so yeah, lots of opportunities to flip my lifestyle the bird and say "I DO WHAT I WANT SUCKA"

and I have done that at times. like last week. *cough*

But, overall I try to remember those things aren't "special" for me. They're part of my job and honestly, I'm not going to deny myself the special treats but I am going to deny myself the mundane. And yea, those donuts and that "fancy" dinner out with Architects isn't special It's my job. Keeping that "special/mundane" mindset helps a lot in all areas for me.

Yes, it's the weekend, but is that temptation special? if so, kill it. And enjoy every moment of it and get back to "real life" as soon as you can. But if it's not really special? meh. Wait for something that is.

weekends are just as easy/difficult as any other day; it's just a number on a calendar.

Congrats! I bank calories during the week for the weekend. It allows me to go out pizza every Friday evening and have treats here and there without going over in my calories for the week.

It helps me to have that balance and still be able to stay on my plan of maintaining my weight (and losing weight when I was losing).

Yea, sundays are rough for me as well. I do stuff, so its difficult for me to keep myself on track. Normally I go over, and take calories from the next day or two to make up for it. Its not perfect, but it kinda works

I used to party heavy on the weekends. Now I don't drink and I rarely eat outside my home, so it's just another day to me.
