Low Appetite + throwing up

Hey guys!
I’m not new on MyFitnessPal but I’m new to the community... didn’t even know this existed tbh but I’m glad it is!
So recently I’ve been having a very tough time eating and keeping the food down, and because of the discomfort that comes with throwing up, sometimes I don’t eat at all.
The issue here is that I’m getting less than half the recommended daily intake of calories and I’m a vegetarian so I have enough issues with malnutrition.
Also when I do eat something (a full meal), i could end up with stomach discomfort and nausea eventually leading to me throwing it up (mostly wet vomit).
Which leads up to my questions, 1. How on earth do you count calories if you don’t know home much of it was actually absorbed by the stomach?
2. Does anyone know how to increase calorie intake in a healthy way?
Ps. I don’t have a history of eating disorders & yes I’m losing weight because of this hassle but it’s negatively affecting my health so I’m considering it a negative.

Have you seen a doctor regarding this? If not, that would be my first step. Throwing up whenever you eat is not normal and it could be any range of things from a stomach bug to something more serious.
I wouldn't worry so much about counting or tracking now while you are dealing with this. Getting it treated should be the priority.7 -
I think you need to go to the doctor and figure out what's going on with your stomach.6

if this is an ongoing issue , not a short term virus (short term = a few days) - you need to see a Dr.

And in the meantime, try not eating ‘full’ meals, but more frequent smaller meals of highly digestible foods. Bananas, rice, applesauce, toast/crackers and chicken, that sort of thing.6 -
You should see a doctor. The underlying cause of regular vomiting could be many things.
Until you are recovered from whatever is causing you to vomit, you should focus on eating what you can keep down and not worry about calories.1 -
As others have said, see a doctor asap! Frequent, involuntary vomiting is a sign of several serious gastric conditions that can turn deadly if not treated. If a cause cannot be determined, be prepared to jump through hoops and fight to be taken seriously. A loved one is living with a gastric disorder and it took her about seven years and a near bowel rupture to find a specialist who recognized what she was living with could help her.1

My husband had this issue last year. He lost over 60 lbs in 8 weeks. A 6'2" man at 124 lbs is not a good thing. He has since found out his body takes over 2 hours to digest his foods and is now barred from a lot of hard to digest good as it ferments in his stomach before he gets the nutrition. Definitely go see a dr for the 4 hour gastric emptying study as mentioned above as that is how he found out this info. He has since gained back 40 lbs0
