Tracking sleep

Is there a way to track sleep using MyFitnessPal and get a chart out of it? Similar to the way weight is tracked.

Not that I've seen. I track via my fitness tracker but it doesn't even offer the option to sync sleep data with MFP (only calorie and exercise info). Maybe it's one of the premium services?

Nope, but the fitbit web page gives nice reports. My fitbits all died after a few months, but sleep monitoring was my favorite feature, along with vibration wake-up.

I didn't have the best experience with the fancy Fitbits but the flex and flex2 both last a long time. And they both track sleep

I don't believe MFP offers sleep tracking. My Garmin tracks my sleep and it can be really depressing at times.

MFP (premium or otherwise) does not track sleep, but there are many apps out there that do. It would be a nice add by UA if it sync'd with all major devices. If you want to keep everything in one place, you could record in the notes section.

YES!!!! you can track sleep on MFP. log in on your desktop. chose "check-In" and from there you can see that weight is already tracked. you can choose "track additional measurements" and then it'll bring up a window that lets you make changes. Once all your changes are made you can sync your mobile app and then you can track it on your app. From the app: choose "progress" then at the top choose "Weight" and a menu opens at the bottom and you can now choose "Sleep". It will generate reports for you just like the weight reports. I think this is really great BUT, it's a total pain in the butt to have to go in like that and track it each day. I which it was an option on the + button.

And I have to say that MFP has a done a horrible job at advertising this or making it more friendly to access and measure readily at our fingertips. I just found this out this week when I emailed MFP and told them they should add this feature, to which they replied it was added back in 2014!!!!! way back then and nobody knows about it.

That's understandable, however, this is something we would have to manually enter in each day such as a weight or a neck measurment/value. By adding a "sleep" measurement, it doesn't do anything other than track a number. I guess what I'm looking for is a way to sync a sleep app like 'Pillow' for example, to MFP just as exercise and Steps are automatically synced via the Health App. 'Pillow' tracks my sleep through my apple watch and automatically reflects in the 'Health' App. Of course, my exercise is synced to MFP through the Health app. I'm just surprized the App managers with UnderArmor havent figured out a way to partner up with a specific app developer in order to have sleep automatically sync/reflect in MFP.

I think this could help a great deal in building data for some folks to see how there sleep habits effect their body as a whole, resulting in secondary and tertiary effects in Fitness and diet.

Yes, of course you can use this app to track your sleep. This way I always look on the duration of my sleep and if something interfered with my sleep, I try to rest during the day. I do this in order not to get sick from overwork. Good sleep is very important to me. It affects my productivity and my mood, I think that's the case for everyone. So I bought myself a super comfortable high-quality lull mattress to sleep on like a cloud. This way I finally get enough sleep and feel great. Also, this is facilitated by a healthy diet and physical activity. And new technologies help me keep track of this.

My Fitbit is synced with MFP and I can see that my minutes of sleep are part of the sync -- they're included in my MFP reporting options. But the Fitbit app offers much more detailed information.
