Start by counting calories for a few months, then fine tune your macros if needed.3

Calories are the only thing that matter for weight loss. Calories in vs calories out. Tracking and counting your macros can sometimes be a beneficial tool to help you stay within your calorie goal. You may find out that certain macro mixes keep you full and make it easier to stay within your calorie goal. So sometimes it cna be a benefit to helping with your calorie goal. But calories is the real important thing, as that is what determines weight loss.6
