To lose weight, you need to be in a calorie deficit. Carbs are not directly relevant to weight loss. They may be indirectly related if a certain carb intake makes you feel satiated, but ultimately it is a calorie deficit and not macros that cause weight loss.7

I agree with apullum. I started out low carb but eat too many vegetables and not much fat so I end up between 100-150. It hasn't stopped me from losing. When I first started dieting I was living on oatmeal and Lean Pockets and still lost. It's the calorie deficit that matters.3

I count on carbs and fat to stay satiated. I can't tell you the number I reach daily because I don't pay much attention to the macros. I focus on staying in a calorie deficit.1

Are you talking about under 100 carbs, or over 100 carbs? i lost 40 pounds eating 200-300 grams per day on average.1

I'm a 5'5" li'l ol' lady, and lost weight just fine eating around 150g carbs daily, and have been maintaining at a healthy weight eating 200g or more daily. It's just food; calories are what count for weight loss (any macronutrient); nutrition is important for health, energy, and body composition (so it's important to get enough protein, fats, veggies and fruits).
No need to overcomplicate, no matter what the tabloid headlines in the supermarket checkout say. (After all, they were wrong about J.Lo having aliens' baby . . . I think.).

I started low carb 100 g or less and lost my first 50 lbs always hungry, tired, and miserable. When I started using this app, I slowly increased the carbs to around 150-200 a day now and have lost another 23 lbs so far WITHOUT being miserable and have so much more energy to fuel my workouts. Like mentioned by others, staying in a calorie deficit is the only thing that matters regarding weight loss.3
