The cowboy rides on....

Good morning my darlins. I hope this morning finds everyone well. You know the last few days I have felt rather lonely. I guess it’s the kind of loneliness that you only get if you’re a single parent trying to raise kids by yourself. And last night for the first time in forever I felt tired. I looked at the 11ish hours of work I had to do the next day, the cub scout planning (plus the prep for the upcoming basketball season), and the how much housework that I needed to do and I felt tired. It was the first time in forever that I felt tired. And that’s when I had to stop myself. I reminded myself what a blessing it is to be a father, have a job, be a den leader, sports coach and just to have each day to love my babies. And that is how we need to see each day. We need to stay positive and look at each day as a day to be thankful for our blessings. We only get one turn and we have to be joyful and love every minute of it. Even the hard moments... Especially the hard moments!!!!! So this cowboy is going to saddle his horse and ride on hard but with a song of praise and joy. You know I am a simple cowboy. I love my Lord, my kids and my cowboy hat. And I love you. You are incredibly amazing, gorgeous, sweet and just wonderful. You are special, and a shinning star. So climb up on your horse and ride hard beside me my gorgeous darlins. We will face this world together knowing we can never be stopped, and that victory is ours. We are warriors and we are blessed.

    this city slicker needed that this hard morning, as i'm going through some very trying health issues involving my mother. i'm beaten and broken, and all i want to do is crawl under my blanket and sleep it all away, in hopes that it's just a dream.

    your kind words have made me realize that this is the time i need to be awake, and focused, for my mom.

    You are an inspiration! Thank you for reminding me that time is precious and need to maximize how much of it I spend with my family. Housework can wait but our babies will one day be grown :)

    Your post made me stop and actually think. Yes, I feel tired and frustrated (work related stupidity), but I still can be thankful and enjoy the good moments :)
    It was raining this morning, but I still enjoyed the walk with the dog. Small things that make difference :)

    Ed, you are so sweet and encouraging all the time, that it easy to forget that you are human and have down moments every now and again. But that just makes you all the more wonderful, as you show your strength in lifting yourself up while continuing to carry us along on your ride. Hopefully we can do the same for you, because you too are a wonderful, highly intelligent, wonderfully charming, devoted father, man, cowboy, and highlight of our days. Oh yeah, forgot to mention that you smoking hot and a true stud. So as you ride on cowboy, enjoy the brillance of your sunrises, and the breathtaking view of the field before you as you know that we are right there beside you breathing it all in as well. Have a great, mentally restful day.

    You are the definition of a pure and beautiful soul cowboy...I wish you all the happiness in the world and no one ever knows what the future holds but we have to trust in the Lord and just live our lives how we know and count our blessings everyday and you are a blessing to me :) much love and hugs!!

    Wow, as a momma this struck me right in the heart. It is tough raising kids, especially with very little (or no) outside help. Keep on truckin', cowboy! You have such a way with words and I'm sure half the women on here are head over spurs in love.
