I searched this but none of the threads that came up were recent. so: anyone else here play Just Dance for fitness?

I've played since JD4 on the Wii but recently leveled up to an Xbox One. JD is my main, but I like Dance Central as well. add me if you play! my gamertag is @heckyeakelly

I just found DISNEY TUNES DDR, so I am starting that back up! It's for Wii though, not Xbox. How do you log it? It's not specifically in the exercise options.

ahh I'm trash at DDR. I've got a good "dance sense" when it comes to my entire body but it falls out the window when it's just legs lol.

@SonyaCele Microsoft recently stopped production of new Kinects + new Xbox Ones don't have dedicated Kinect ports anymore, so the industry for dance or motion games is terminal :( if you got a new Xbox One (S or X), you'd have to find a used Kinect and adapter

@Relser JD has kcal tracking mode in-game, so that's how I track. there's also an option in the database for "dancing, aerobic" or something which would be the closest if DDR doesn't have kcal tracking

I'll have to look more into my game- there is a workout mode that I haven't played yet so maybe that'll be where I find calories burned.

    Thanks!

We just got a new Xbox One at Christmas. I'd like to do some dance workouts. I'm new to the whole gaming thing but it looks like I need a Kinect to use dance/exercise games with Xbox one? And Xbox Fitness is no more-is that right?

@Sumiblue - The newer Just dance games can use your smart phone as the controller. For any other fitness games you will need the kinect

Yes they did get rid of Xbox fitness.

I’ve done Just Dance a bit in the past on our Wii, heaps of fun! Might have to get back into it once I’ve recovered from a ligament tear!

just dance games on the wii is how I lost my first 17lbs without counting calories.(I count now because I have to). but I have an xbox 360 my son gave me and he found me a kinect so from time to time I do just dance games, dance central and I have a few fighting games to where I have to basically do kickboxing which is fun too., if you can get a kinect get one. its worth it. I cant afford an xbox one or wii U so will make do with what I have. oh I also have the black eyed peas dance experience and that one is a tough one.

Calorie burns are estimates, so just use the general category that your exercise falls under. Low impact aerobics would be my guess.

I really enjoy Just Dance 2018 on the Nintendo Switch! It's maybe not as intense as Zumba but it's fun.

Love playing just dance for some cardio because I hate running! Only played for 30 minutes today and burned about 200 calories according to my Apple Watch :)
