Your life waits on you

I believe that we can't expect to be lucky in life. You can't just modestly wait for love or something, people can't find you and they don't even know about you. That's why I believe the only thing waiting on us is ourselves to make changes in our lives. Your life is waiting on u to make those changes. But...what changes? that's up to you

    Whst changes would I make?

I agree with you...and one day I said enough is enough...I need to be the person I want to be...stop making excuses of how my past damaged me. Or whatever 100 excuses I could give. I decided what kind of person i would be if it didnt take effort lol...and then decided what changes I'd need make to actually become that person....and I'm 100 percent more happy....still a work in progress...and this does not mean I have a boyfriend, new job, or new body...but internally slowly I'm learning who I am.

Definitely. I've found that the "luckiest" people I know are the ones who actively seek out their successes, not just sit around hoping/praying/buying Lotto tickets. We make our own "luck!"

(I mean, with a few specific exceptions like real health scares, winning a scratcher, etc, but I mean as a rule.)

    We finally agree on something!

With that being said I throughly enjoy reading your perspectives, however vastly different from my own.

I kinda got lucky in the sense of getting some decent genetics. Of course it's been up to me to take those genetics along the path of healthy choices. I haven't always done so, I was a smoker for many years, and only recently started paying attention to fitness and the quality of what I ate.

Most of the other changes I've made have been what other people wanted, sadly. First parents, then friends. I lacked confidence in my own judgement and always felt that others knew better than me what I "should" do for myself. Oh well, at least it helped me figure out what I don't want for my life.

I’ve made changes in diet and exercise the last year and a half - giving this sober October thing a try - although I don’t want to give up beer completely- it’ll nice to know I can if I choose to - trying to open to feedback given by others rather than be defensive about it - idk chit like that - carry on friends

What you said true. I think I could’ve said it better but I appreciate your attempt to help motivate people

I hope we can be best friends!
