Is "Complete Diary." only used to show projections?

in Getting Started
I never click "Complete Diary." after I am done eating for the day, is this only used to show projections or does it serve another propose?

    I think it also allowes other people to view your diary if you've set you diary as public. But don't quote me on that.
    Tbh, I don't think it serves much purpose at all.

    If the diary is public, it can be viewed regardless.

    Completing the day gives the projection and posts to your wall for friends to see that you completed your day and were above or below your goal. That's it.

    Some people like the encouraging comments from friends when they see you've completed your diary and it's under. Mines private, but friends can see if I post it and how I've done. Most times I don't complete it don't need the comments for this part.
