I usually dress my salads with lemon juice and salt, or oil and vinegar, but sometimes I use bottled lowfat dressing for the convenience. Thus far my favorite is Kraft's lowfat red wine vinaigrette. What are your favorites?

** Please don't lecture me on whether lowfat dressings are good or bad. That's for another forum. Thanks. ***

If you have a Trader Joe's near you I love their Light Champagne Vinaigrette dressing, it has about 50 calories per serving, is low fat (5 g?) and really tastes great!

My favorite salad dressing is Maple Grove Farms Fat Free Honey Dijon. I can buy it at a regular grocery store and it has NO FAT. It is only 35 calories for 2 Tablespoons. I pick up about 4 bottles at a time because my whole family loves it.

    SUPER Ranch Dressing (Clean Eating)
(Makes approximately 8 TBSP - I usually double this)

    5 TBSP low-fat buttermilk
3 TBSP non-fat plain Greek yogurt
    1/4 tsp onion powder
    1/4 tsp dried dill
    1/2 tsp dried parsley
    1/2 tsp dried chives
    1/2 tsp salt
    Pepper to taste

Using a whisk, mix all ingredients together in a bowl until smooth and evenly blended.

    Serving size 2 TBSP = Calories 14.2 Fat 0.2g Carbohydrate 1.6g Fiber 0.1g Protein 1.7g
  • Panera Poppy Seed Dressing- it is a little on the sweet said, but low-fat. You can find it at the grocery store.

I am weird about salads and dressing. I love Trader Joe's Goddess dressing. So good, so full of calories, but if I plan for it I get to have it. If I want a really big salad I'll go with a light balsamic.

A good trick for those of us who like our salads - put your serving of dressing in the bottom of a large mixing bowl, and put your salad in after and mix it all up with a wooden spoon. The fixings get better coverage that way.
