I was pretty successful taking Phentermine; I lost 23lbs... I quit taking it and my appetite surged and my energy dropped. I have put on 5lbs. I don't know how to continue to lose weight without the help of this drug... I still have 10lbs to lose. Any advice on how to overcome this??

PS I quit taking it because it was making me psycho. Like a crack head. I was paranoid, fidgety, and down right crazy...

My appetite picked back up when I stopped taking it, as well. You've just got to find a way to not eat more than you should. Track your food. Measure everything and read nutrition labels. You were smart to stop taking it if you were having such side effects. But you have to make lasting changes, or you will just gain all the weight back. I know you don't want that.

It's not called the Jenny Crank diet for no reason. Good luck, be glad you quit, while it is an effective tool, it can be very hard on the body.

I took this a couple of years ago when I first started losing weight. I felt GREAT while on it, it was amazing! I had so much energy I didn't know what to do with it all. My only problem was that I couldn't sleep. I literally wouldn't sleep for 2 days in a row then I would sleep good one night and then start all over again. I lost 20 QUICK pounds on it but it wasn't worth laying awake all night.

That pretty much sounds like speed.

Phentermine was a great tool for me when I needed to jump start my metabolism, but you can't take it long term. I always described it as duct tape for my brain because I was never hungry, but it doesn't teach you to eat right. This web site has been much more useful and more effective in the long run.

Try to find some really healthy meals for now and start running or zumba and strength training to get your metabolism up again.

I started taking it back in July and only lost 6lbs in one month and a half. It really didnt do anything for me except not let me sleep or go to the bathroom! I still wanted to take a nap in the afternoon though! lol! it was giving me chest pains and it was making my blood pressure go up so i quit taking it. I have still been losing but it has been slow for the last couple weeks since i stopped taking it. I think those pills are for people that dont have the willpower to step away from the food. You just gotta have the willpower and desire to want to change. Its like smoking or any other thing in life....if you deep down dont want to change then your not going to.
