With my nieces help I have begun using myfitness pal. I am in my 50s and have health issues that impact my exercise(waiting for hip replacement, as well as depression and anxiety). Right now I am not exercising. Can anyone recommend some things to me? I have no access to a gym .
thank you

Congrats on getting started. Try Leslie Sansome walk at home videos. It’s easy to start where you’re up and progress from there. She builds in a lot of variety.2

Well, if you’ve never done any fitness training it will be hard to make progress all on your own. Best would be to work with an individual trainer who can help you to work around your health issues. 2nd best is to do group training (Pilates is good to start). 3rd best are the free videos on YouTube. I like Popsuger Fitness (search for it).
Best of luck!0 -
How long until your hip replacement? If it will be soon then definitely try to get physical therapy while healing and start with what they recommend. Hopefully it will be successful and you can start building up your physical activity after that. Walking is always good.
In the meantime, determine your daily calorie goal and learn how to accurately weigh, measure, and log your food.0 -
go to YouTube and in the search bar type "chair exercises" and see what comes up. Another search on "exercises for seniors" and "beginning exercises". I bet you will find a ton of ideas that you can get started with.2

I would first check with the appropriate doctor about activities that are safe for your hip.2

To expand on this. If you are being monitored/have your replacement booked, or even just surmising that you need a hip replacement, talk to your doctor about a PT referral.
Getting your legs, hips, etc in the best condition possible before the operation, generally increases the chances of a of a successful long term outcome.
For self help, if there is a pool nearby aqua fit is generally a safe option.
Many pools offer classes for those with joint issues.

Definitely get some advice about what you are capable of doing while waiting for a new hip. Usually the body is pretty good at telling us what is too much but best to proceed with caution. I am almost certain a search online for 'safe activities to do with a bad hip' might even give some suggestions.

I recommend to start with Food, I'm saying this because its the most challenging thing about Health and Fitness is to control what we eat. if you can find a consistent healthy food diet I'm sure Training would be easy 😁.
As a Start know
"Macros" and " Daily calorie Need".
you current weight..
Next I want you to know what you want ?
Lose fat, gain Muscle ?1
