I was reading another thread and this is what Mike said: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/330752-the-hypocrisy
In other words, if anyone has an objection, we are no longer to have themed days...guess this isn't a free country :noway:
no, we can have themed days, we just can't post it in "hot" topic threads, because people are either not adults and/or are prudes and offended by the nature of fun. OP - you look fabulous!!!0 -
No haterade from me. You're rocking that bikini top girl!!0
-
I totally agree!! There is NOTHING wrong with being proud of what you have accomplished. If the site mods really have issues with these types of photos then we shouldn't be allowd to upload them in the first place. While I would NEVER intentiionally offend someone I certainly will NOT apologize for being proud of my progress so far. I work my butt off as do many people on this site and it should be up to us to express ourselves the way we choose. They are not naked shots, just a little cleavage here and there. We should all be proud of our bodies and if someone doesn't like the cleavage type shots then they don't have to participate. Its that simple:)
Well said.0 -
Well I guess showing off my now in shape tush won't happen either... It's no longer allowed!! Theme days aren't just about boobs and butts we do arms, backs, legs, all parts get improved as you get in share!!! Get over yourselves we are adults showing progress we make as we get in shape....0
-
The only issue I see is exactly what progress are you showing with a picture of just your chest? Not much. Sure, some women lose their chest, and I would love to be one of those women, but if I do, I'm not going to post a pic of just my chest. If you want to show off your progress, show your whole body! Usually, when someone posts a pic like that, they know exactly what type of attention they are going to attract, so to each his (or her) own. I think progress pics are amazing, so post away! Just beware that there are some people that will always view things differently than you will.0

No pics of your tush?0 -
if I were showing off how fit I've become I'd post a picture more of my body (as I have) to show my flat stomach, etc.....but hey whatever part of you that you are most proud of, flaunt it.
This. I see you're trying to make a point but how does a pic of your boobs in a bikini show how your progress? I don't get it.
Unless your boobs were huge and they deflated or they were saggy now they're perky (but I hear that doesn't happen with weight loss) or whatever. I just don't get it.
Not being a hater. Just saying, I don't get how that specific pic shows your progress?
I call it as it is. I choose not to participate in the theme pics for whatever reasons. If you want to that's fine, doesn't bother me but don't say it's because you're showing progress. Just saying.

The "more to the story" is that a few threads have been deleted today that focused on showing off certain features, fully contained in bathing suit tops, shirts etc, no nudity or vulgarity, just beautiful women proudly showing off their bodies, and men showing appreciation through positive feedback (and occasionally attempting to post similar pics of themselves). The question is why such a thread would be deleted, and why such a thread would be deemed unsuitable for a site that is designed to help us change our bodies, increase our self esteem, and encourage one another through our comments. What is more liberating than putting it out there, and people showing appreciation for your efforts? Is there more to this story? I mean did you post this on your facebook and people were curious why your posted a boob pic..? Facebook is a bit different in my opinion.0

Ok I'm wondering why if I've worked my tail off for 9 1/2 months and dropped two medications getting healthy and in shape can I not show my progress??? We are adults, aren't we? You dint see anything worse in this picture than you would going to a pool or a beach!! So I'm asking what's wrong with this picture?
Nothing at all!!! Great progress!!0 -
Well, that just bites!! I have never had the self-confidence or self-esteem to show off my body. Now that I finally got the courage to show myself and the wonderful people who have supported me through this journey that I'm proud of what I've done, in a slightly anonymous way, it's shut down. I work my butt off every day towards health and fitness, but also in trying to overcome mental obstacles that being overweight have always imposed on me. I'm proud of everyone who has been working hard and who has the courage to show off their efforts. And that includes me!0

I don't have a problem with others opinions being different, I just dont think that one persons difference of opinion should affect everyone else's rights to show progress... Like I said its not always about boobs.. And all my friends have seen how far I've come and know where I started...0 -

Yes, the pics are for attention. Getting Complimented feels good. Whether it is because you Finished your food journal under, or logged an amazing calorie burn, or posted before and after pics, or just plain old sexual attention. Its all the same. Attention and Compliments feel good, and who doesn't want to feel good?0 -
FF is too hot *swoon*
ps I like to 'feel' good :devil:0 -

How do you know in what way the OP's picture shows her progress? Have you seen pictures of her before she started with MFP?
Unless a person knows the background to the other persons journey on MFP what gives them the right to judge others progress based on the picture they choose to post?0 -
