So I originally weighed 51-52kg.( I am short .. 5'4) i was happy with my weight and was maintaining.
Since a few weeks ago, I literally started gaining 1kg a week! I now weight 56.5kg!
I am going crazy because I am definetly not eating 7000 extra calories per week! And I work out on my mini stepper for 1hr 30mins evryday!
Also, my jeans are fitting just the same
I am not understanding whats happening!
Today I weighed myself after 45mins on the mini stepper and I am 56.5kg !!

Have you started a new workout routine? Are you using the same scale? Does your scale have new batteries? Have you moved your scale lately? Is it broken? Can you possibly be pregnant? Are you sensitive to temperature changes (some people retain water)? Have you been sick/injured lately? Many things can change weight on the scale. If you gained 4 actual kilos of fat at this low weight and height you would definitely see them.10

Are you weighing yourself at the same time each time? (Example: each morning at 6 am naked)
Have you started any new medications? Some meds can cause initial weight gain?
Are you stressed at work?1 -
Assuming it is not something simple like one of the things mentioned in @amusedmonkey's post and you go up another kg in the near future you may want to consider seeing a doctor.5

It seems with every new dawn a new piece of quackery emerges! I thought I’d pretty much seen them all, but this one is new to me! 😂😂
Are there any scientific studies to support the apparent weight loss magic of honey and garlic I wonder?
Honey and garlic? Sounds like it will make me not want to eat! 🤭3 -
Are your ankles puffy? Do you feel okay otherwise?3

are you logging your food (after weighing it for accuracy in logging)?
that's really the best way to zero in on where the extra calories are coming from.
- i used to think 'just one beer a night' wasn't a problem, but, dang if there aren't calories in beer! 200+ of them in every can.
- then there was the 'splash of oil' versus the measured amount - holy kamoley if there wasn't three times the calories I believed I was consuming.
good luck.

Are you eating salty food? Like canned soup? I takes my body four days to get back to normal after eating progresso soup. Drink lemon water for it's diuretic properties. And at one point my digital scale was stuck forever, I always stored it on its side. I changed the battery and weighed myself twice and had lost five pounds! Sometimes I have to pick up something heavy and weigh, then put it down and get the correct weight. I even bought a new scale and that one got stuck on a member too. Good luck! Keep fighting the good fight.0

What type of scale do you have? Is it digital or mechanical? If it’s digital, have you checked the batteries lately?0

Unlikely that somebody of just over 50 kg who was successfully maintaining has suddenly gained a kg a week and jumped to 56kg ( that's over 12 lb ) in a few weeks due to logging errors or canned soup.
Gradual gain due to portion creep, yes - but this much that quickly - I doubt it.
Far more likely it is a data entry issue - ie scale battery or similar.
Or a need to see Dr issue, like pregnancy or less likely oedema for some reason.
Ps garlic and honey tastes good together with other ingredients - we do a garlic and honey stirfry with vegetables and chicken strips sometimes.
Yummy.
But not weight loss magic.9 -

Agreed that depending on how long "a few weeks" is--is it 4-5 weeks, or something else?--this sounds like a potential scale problem or medical issue, but it also sounds like there's some new exercise and inconsistency in weighing. OP is describing doing a lot of exercise that sounds like it might be new, but we don't have enough information to know for sure. OP is also describing exercising for 45 minutes and then weighing, which makes me concerned that they may not be weighing at the same time each day. So there's some possible water fluctuation going on, but 10 pounds seems like a lot.
(OP was 51-52 kg and is now 56.5 kg, which is 10-12 lb. depending on where they started.)
OP, how long had you been maintaining your weight? Exactly how long has it taken you to gain the 4.6kg? How long have you been doing this exercise routine? Have there been other changes in your life during this time?
I would recommend replacing your scale battery, making sure your scale is on a level surface where it doesn't need to be moved, and then weighing yourself consistently at the same time each day. Most people choose first thing in the morning after using the toilet.
If you just started working out for 90 minutes every day, that would be a LOT of exercise for someone who is new to exercising. Your body would be retaining water due to the normal muscle repair process that comes with introducing a new or more intense exercise routine. But, if you've been doing this exercise for a month, I'd expect the water weight to go away soon.
If none of those things address the problem, then you may want to see your doctor.4 -
Hello, I want to share this info
For Females... for accurate weight, check after the last day of menstrual cycle.
As hormonal fluctuations can cause weight gain.

Don’t weigh yourself after a workout. It’s best to weigh first thing in the morning, after using bathroom and before eating or drinking. Aldo be aware that many women gain weight at some point in their monthly cycle, then lose it the next week.3
-
I agree menstual cycles can cause weight fluctuations - but not likely to be 10- 12 lb in a person only weighing 51 kg.
And anyway if this has been happening over a few weeks it would cover the full month of a menstrual cycle.2 -

Your post said you’d gained 1 kg for a few weeks, not 10-12!0 -

You've lost me - my post didn't say I have gained any amount, I am not the OP and I haven't mentioned my own weight and I dont get menstrual cycles myself.
OP has, vaccording to her scale, in a few weeks, gone from 51 kg to 56.5 kg - that is around 10 - 12 lb.
or has gained approx a kg per week over a month, ie a full menstrual cycle.

I am not pregnant for sure and its not a menstrual cycle issue as I take the pill daily without any 7 day break.
What seems weird to me is that the scale indicates that I was gaining 1kg per week for th last 4-5 weeks and yet my clothes fit the same

Also , I've been using my mini stepper for almost 2 hours a day for the last year to maintain so its not new
The only thing I have been doing differently os I do a 100squats with kettlebell once a week. But I weigh myself 5 days after so it should not affect it0 -
This leaves scale issues (broken, needs new batteries...etc) and medical issues. It is possible to get pregnant on the pill, so keep an eye on that. The squats could be contributing. I remember when I first started strength training it took about 6 weeks for my weight to stabilize, and it stabilized at a slightly higher weight (not 5 kg, though).5

But even if I did gain due to medical issues, wouldn't my clothes not fit or something ?0 -
If you are weighing yourself at home on a digital body weight scale, try changing the battery first. Then weigh something you know is a particular weight, like a barbell or a bag of flour (just to check the accuracy.)
Second, always weigh at the same time of day, preferably morning after using the bathroom and wearing the same amount of clothing.
Then I would go step on someone else's scale; whether that's a friend, a medical center, a gym, wherever there is a scale. See how close they are.
Digital body weight scales can malfunction. If I gained 10-12 pounds I would definitely notice it in the way my clothing fits, so I'm inclined to think you are experiencing a malfunctioning scale.3 -
Go replace your scale battery and let us know how that goes1
