That b*tc# Irene wrecked my shoes!!

Okay, so not weight or health-related at all. My mother is very ill, and lives in the Wash. D.C. area. I came to stay with her this week (got here Saturday right before Irene), and had to do some work in her yard, as her fence got blown down and I had to put it back up, since she's too weak to walk right now. I have wrecked two pairs of shoes since Saturday. Now, they aren't leather. I don't want to make a lot of noise, as the clothes washer is outside my mom's room. I was wondering if it would be bad for the shoes or the appliance if I put them in the dishwasher?? I know it's a freaking strange question, but has anybody ever done this? Did it work? I know people have put shoes in the washing machine before, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask!

I've never done that however I was baseball hats in the dishwasher all the time and it works great so I assume it'd be fine for shoes.0

I have done it and with certain shoes it works better then the washer.0

It's less stressful on the shoes (as they don't "tumble") but beware of the settings as likely your dishwasher uses much hotter water than your washing machine!0

Wow I never thought of washing shoes or baseball caps in the dishwasher. Great idea. Thanks for the post!0

We always washed our shoes in the washing machine or dishwasher and then put them in the oven to dry.
They make little baseball holders that go into the dishwasher. Grew up with two brothers and we went through probably a dozen of those things between the two of them and their friends. Lol.0
