Hi everyone,
I struggle with late night snacking. How does everyone else deal with this and if I count it, is it OK? I make healthy choices but sometimes right up until I go to bed. I am a night owl. Sometimes we eat dinner around 6 or 7 and I am up until 12- 1am. Appreciate any input and suggestions... other than go to bed earlier. LOL

I have noticed that an early dinner leads to feeling hungry late at night. I prefer savoury food - a hard boiled egg or piece of chicken does the trick for me.

Slow digesting protein and fiber before bed will curb late night munchies. Casein Protein or cottage cheese. A multigrain muffin or bread.

I'm a night owl, too. It works out better for me if I don't eat breakfast or just have something small, like a banana. Lunch is my biggest meal of the day -- usually a large salad with a protein -- and then a small dinner. Cutting out breakfast, or eating light then, leaves me some calories for later.

My late snacks include a Fage 2% Greek yogurt (plain, which I like, has 20 grams of protein) with blueberries, or a low-sodium soup (Amy's brand minestrone has 90 calories a cup), or a hot drink like hot tea or decaf coffee.
