What made you stop yo-yo’ing and finally lose the weight?

I think like many of you I’ve started and stopped my weight los journey so many times I’ve lost count. I’ve been on MFP for years and I’ve lost and gained so many times I’m 30lbs heavier now than I was when I first started...
So... for the people who’ve finally lost/kept the weight off, what finally made it “click” for you? What made you succeed? Was it a certain diet program or a moment in your life?
Looking for motivation as I start this journey again (again).

Commitment as opposed to motivation worked for me. Motivation is like an emotion it peaks and troughs. Commitment to goals and plans kept me going when motivation was very low.
Motivation may get you started but it is commitment to yourself and health that will keep you going.2 -
Committing to logging consistently, losing slowly, and not following any diet - just eating what I like, learning from my log, and realizing this is something I will be doing for the rest of my life. When I have a bad day, I don't get discouraged and quit, I realize that in the hopefully 15,000+ days I have left, I'm not going to be perfect so I'm going to have to just shrug off those bad days and keep moving.2

I've never really yo-yoed. I lost 40 Lbs about 7 years ago and have more or less kept it off. I do the same things in maintenance that I did while losing weight...I eat well for the most part, most of the time and I get in regular exercise...not so much "working out" as I only do that a couple times per week in the weight room...but I like riding a bike, mountain biking, hiking, rock climbing, walking my dog, etc. Being an active person makes maintenance relatively easy.
I do usually put on 8-10 Lbs in the winter and then take it off in the spring...mostly a matter of declining activity in the winter months. I also have a 10 Lb intervention rule...if I hit 10 Lbs up from my usual maintenance number, I nip it in the bud and don't let it go on. Usually this means cutting out a couple afternoon snacks and doing something or another to increase daily activity if I've been slacking.0 -
For me, I realized that I can have cake and icecream and still lose weight. I just had to make sure I logged the calories and be consistent.
Planning my day out the night before has helped so I know what to do instead of just winging it.
I drink lots of coffee & water and try to hit my protein to stay full throughout the day until I have my next meal.
Seeing progress pictures that I've taken every month has motivated me. Whenever I feel like I'm not making any progress, I'll look at my progress pictures and it motivates me to keep going.2
