Try intermittent fasting. It works great on your blood sugar. A medically supervised regimen of intermittent fasting and Keto can even reverse the diabetic conditions. If you don't want to do Keto, talk to your doctor on getting into a regimen of intermittent fasting and low calorie (100gms)/moderate protiens/high fat diet. Use MFP to keep you accountable.

    quick tips:
    1. 1 tsp of Apple Cider Vinegar in a glass of water can help with blood sugar esp if you slip up on a meal
    2. Try to eat Fruits with Fats. For e.g; Apple slices with cheese. Fat lowers the insulin spikes in the sugar.
    3. Avoid low fat food. Fat lowers the insulin spike. Its better to have whole egg than egg white or reduced fat milk than fat free.
    4. Eat lots of vegetables to get potassium esp if you do intermittent fasting.

    Hello wall at fitness pal
Need to start losing some weight and getting control of my type 2 diabetes

Welcome, there is a group for diabetics if you are interested. I am a type 2, been one for twnty years now. So do understand the need to control it, and lose weight. I am working on both. Read the stickies, there are tons of good information in them.
I am on a lower carb diet, with my endocrinologists full backing. I am not on KETO, even though I will admit I do use some KETO recipes here and there. Kind of whatever works. There are many different methods to lose weight as a diabetic. But it all comes down to we need to burn up more calories than what we are eating known as Calories in/Calories out.
Some will suggest you do the Intermittent Fasting, I do not do that, and it is something that my Endocrinologist was not in favor of. And there is no such thing as reversing diabetes, it can be put in remission. But it can come back, if lifestyle change falters. And apple cider vinegar use to make a salad dressing bnot to drink bleh!
But many swear by the fasting fad. I think it may depend on what types of medications people take as to whether it will work.

Good Luck, time, patience getting a food scale and logging everything you eat will get you on your way,
