C25K Calories Burnt Variations

Hi I have recenlty recommenced C25K after starting it and not finishing
On monday I did day one week 1 with a walk pace of 4.5 and a run pace of 9.0 on my treadmill and burnt 422 cals according to my HRM and today I just did day 2 week 1 and had a walk pace of 5.0 and a run of 10.0 but I burnt 20 cals less....it is because i did it later in the morning and after breakfast the second time around?
It just seems odd

Well first of all, good lord you are fast. I just started this week and I run at 4mph!
I read somewhere that the faster you run, the more your movement depends on forward-momentum rather than actual forward-effort. Which is why walking slowly burns a lot of calories. I have found this to be true for myself.0 -
