Sometimes I find myself hungry right before time to go to bed. I always heard you shouldnt eat late at night or just before going to sleep. So is it better to have a snack or just go to bed hungry?

if you're hungry, eat. i have been eating late/right before i go to bed and haven't had any problems
  • i actually have my v8 vfusion for this. it gives me some flavor and the liquid fills me up so im not eating a ton and then sleeping on it. once i got used to the liquid instead of food, i switched to just water and it still takes the hunger away.

if you must eat right before going to bed, have some protein. a cheese string maybe. a slice of deli ham. boiled egg. just protein, try to avoid carbs.

I almost always have a light snack before bedtime. Nothing worse than having a growling stomach keeping you awake.

I drink Casein Protein Shake at bed time every night, because it is a slow digesting protein to feed your muscles at night. It help me in addition to drinking water.

It's best not to eat 2 hrs before bed so I would recommend eating your dinner a little later so that you aren't so hungry before you go to bed or have a small snack - like a serving of fruit or something light If you are still hungry.

I agree with everyone else! Have a snack- I usually have a protein shake, but cheese is a good option too. It's ok to eat a bit of fat, but try to stay away from the carbs at night if you can.

    Good luck!

I'm the same....I usually have some sort of liquid to fill me up. If I want something I'll have a carmel rice cake (the small ones).

i have actually gotten in the habit of trying to budget myself calories to save for 'after dinner calories' like 100-200 calories for a little snack before bed or something cause i always want something before i go to bed. !

When I'm at home in the evenings, my dinner is spread out from 7pm-bedtime which can be midnight or 1 am and it doesn't cause me any problems. But I'm not hungry during the day so I skip breakfast and I don't usually have a huge lunch either. I used to be afraid of eating late at night but at least in my case it's ok because I still have a deficit. I'm just naturally a night person and night eater and I'm not gonna try to fight it.
