Getting in a workout with young kids...

A previous thread about busy parents got me thinking. One of the ways I kick-started my weight loss journey and found time to workout was to walk loops around my house or at a kid’s practice. I probably look like a fool, but I just don’t care! My neighbors call it my prison yard exercises! 🤣

This will only work if your kids are old enough to play independently (probably 3 and up). My yard is really small and the kids would only be out of my sight for about 20 seconds while I was in the front of the house. I could hear them at all times and still take care of their needs. Win win!

A couple of examples:

Anybody else have tips for sneaking in a workout?

I do a yoga video from YouTube in the morning between my older kids & husband leaving and my 2 year old getting up.

My boys are 4 and 7 and we do hiit circuits together 30secs on 30 secs off for 20 mins every day. They love it.

After the kids are asleep and most of the chores are done, I squeeze in 100 jump squats and 100 push ups. Other than that, I carry my huge toddler around a lot and swim with them at the pool

I have an app called "Fiton".
I set reminders on certain workouts every single day. I do the workout whenever. Usually I do it when my son is taking a nap. But, sometimes I'll fit in a workout while he is eating lunch or watching a movie.
