working out at work

Just start a new part time job...it will be on Mondays for about 8 to 9 hrs. Noticed yesterday that it involved a lot of standing...and walking. Not a fast paced walk but a lesiurely, let us see what's hanging on the clothing rack walk. Regardless, completely opposite of my normal 40 hr a week job. Am curious as to how to log it? Especially if it isn't constant...5 mins out of every 30. Not even sure I make sense. May attempt to repost when I'm not halfway to an ambien coma.

I wouldn't log it at all. Walking doesn't burn many calories (especially at a leisurely pace), and you don't want to over-estimate and eat too many calories as a result. Just consider it an added bonus(job perk!)0

I have an on my feet job. I do not log it. I just increased my activity level.0

I have a bodybugg and work in retail about 4-5 days a week. I walk an extra 5000 steps, and burn about 700 more calories on the days I work 8 hours. I don't know if this would hold true for you or not. The store I work in is fairly large and I make a point to move as much as possible while working.0

I agree about not logging it. You could possibly adjust your basic activity level (sedentary to lightly-active, etc), but I wouldn't log what you do at work.0

I don't want to change my activity level for one day a week. Was simply curious if I should log it as exercise. Thank you all for your awesome input. I appreciate it!0
