Should I feel guilty? Ginger Ale to settle nausea..

So I'm out on my route today (I drive for UPS) and I start getting nauseated...so I stopped and bought a Ginger Ale..I only drank half the 20 oz bottle, but now I have a tad bit of guilt. I don't want to sound crazy, but I'm doing really well at watching bad carbs...I DO NOT drink soda at all either...only water and "good for me" fruit juices.

food is not something to feel guilty about. guilt often leads to binges and fall off the wagon. soda every once in a great while isn't a bad thing. just make sure you have the calories for it and you'll be fine.
cheers

Ditto on the make adjustment or ? for the calories and other than that no worries!
Besides... Ginger Ale is good for the tummy and plant derived... so... I'd classify it as healthy / medicinal!! :drinker:
Hope that helps with the guilt.0 -

NOPE
it wasnt for a pleasure thang or a craving thang
so if it worked its all good0 -
Hey, thanks all!! I guess I never thought of it as plant derived...

I say don't go out and drink one every day, but sometimes you gotta do what ya gotta do.......like Dave said, not a craving/cheat thing..........
Ya aight!

It did the trick..for the time being. Also, the pouring rain wasn't helping the situation either..nothing worse than being wet, cold, miserable, and sick ALL DAY long. I just finished the route asap and came on in.
My only guilty feeling was that I hate soda....chocked full of sugars and that's what I avoid!! So, I'm sure you can feel my pain...a little

You shouldn't feel guilty, bu-ut ... conventional ginger ales don't have much in the way of actual ginger ale, so if you felt better it likely was the placebo effect.
Stuff like this: http://www.reedsgingerbrew.com/index.php IS actually ginger-y, but your average ginger ale is just high-fructose corn syrup and artificial flavors.
I have ginger tea for when I have tummy troubles.0 -
Hence the guilt:laugh:
Ill try that site..thanks!

I don't work for that company or anything, hee hee, but the stuff is good! The up side is its made with sugar (not HFCS), but the down side is ... it's made with sugar!
But there is real ginger in it, and you can feel/taste it. :smokin:
Ginger tea is made by lots of different companies, and has no calories. I like this brand: http://www.yogitea.com/Pages/OurTeas/BodyTeas/Ginger.html (I add a teaspoon of sugar.)
Anyway, you really shouldn't feel guilty -- when we feel sick, it's OK to indulge ... or rather, it's OK not to "deprive" ... if that distinction makes sense!0 -
Hope you feel better soon. Don't worry about the calories, worry about feeling better. Cuz you can't be successful if youre sick. If your'e not feeling good you probably don't feel much like eating anyway. So relax and no worries.0
