Doh, entering yesterday too, since apparently I keep hitting *done* instead of *post*.
Was stuck in a room for 10 hours with catered Tex-Mex and lots of chocolate. Was right at my calorie limit when I finally made it home, but was craving real food. Will surely see the scale up again in the morning.

My scale goes up and down too. I'm pretty sure everybody's does. I can eat a low amount of healthful foods, but if I don't simultaneously hydrate, the scale might still be up the next day.0 -
Big potluck tonight and my roommate and I are bringing the cake. A buddy is bringing homemade peach cobbler. Wish me luck, please. 😊

I suspect some of this weight loss is due to sickness.
Tomorrow will be our final weigh in day for this challenge. I'm looking forward to seeing each of your weigh ins. Even if we lost a pound during this four week period, that is better than going the other direction. There is never any guilt if we don't make the exact number we were aiming for, it's a randomly selected number to try to get us going in the right direction.
I am planning on starting a "December: 5 Pound Weight Loss" Challenge. The way I see it is that I could easily put ON 5 pounds in December, with the holiday and erratic eating schedule that comes with it. But if we don't put on 5 pounds, but instead lose 5 pounds, that's an effective 10 pound difference in what we could have been.
So come and join in if you like. Meanwhile, let's all weigh in tomorrow and get our final number for the present challenge.

Thank you for your initiative, Mike! This community support most appreciated. More important than the fat I wish to lose is the shame that accompanies my overeating binges. While I am so tempted to not report when I'm off track, I trust that there is no judgement in this space. The details might be different, but we are all on the same journey.

@seawinters Absolutely no judgment, no condemnation, lots of love and support. I'm encouraging us all to report even when off track, that's my plan anyway, so that we can at least go "off track" with eyes wide open, knowing what we are choosing to do.
Looking forward to going through the holidays with all of you, encouraging us all to enjoy doing something we may not have done before, eat in a self-controlled way through all the parties, friends and family, many of whom don't know how difficult our struggle really is.1 -

Well that was my final weighing day on this challenge. Goal was to lose 4 pounds and I lost 5.5.
I hope you guys are down some, even if not the full 4 pounds. Anytime we lose we have not only counteracted the tendency to go the wrong way, we are moving in the right direction. So I view any loss at all as an excellent win!

@cosmo30, That loss is a huge win! I always like to consider what this loss really accomplished:
1) You turned away from bad habits that make us gain.
2) You employed new, good habits that helped you lose.
3) You showed that you can stick with it over an extended period of time.
4) You refused to believe the lies that you can't do this, or that it won't work.
5) You didn't let the days that the scale went up derail you.
You did all this not perfectly, but progressively. That's what we're after. Very well done, @cosmo30!0 -
