What’s the most simple and effective core exercises to throw in at the end of workouts, the only stimulus I get is from compound movements which I don’t think is enough for me. Specifically I’m trying to just develop overall everything and not just the abs themselves without trying to research a million exercises.

I hope I can help, here are a few that I enjoy.

    -hanging leg/knee raises
    -hanging windshield wipers
    -jackknife sit-ups
    -opposite leg toe touches
    -Russian twists

Long-lever plank, reach plank, or rollout

    Pallof press

Weighted dead bug or hollow hold

    Offset carry

The physio I have for my back issues is based mostly on core strength, and every one of those other than the offset carry has been suggested over the course of the therapy. And they work for what I'm doing.

On a side note, I think many of us would be shocked to see how large our muscles in that area actually are. While going over an MRI that was done, I was amazed how thick the muscle strands are. Neat stuff.

To me there's nothing simpler than just throwing in a few planks at the end of the workout. That will get the job done.
