Hi all,
Over the last 9 months I had lost 45 lbs but these last 4 weeks have been hard for me. I have gained back 3 lbs and I just cant seem to relose them. I think the problem is that I started to cut back logging my food because I was doing a good job maintaining so I was okay with it because even though I wanted to keep losing I was happy not to gain. Now that I am gaining I want to refocus on weightloss but I cant seem to find motivation to get refocused. Any advice would help.

I so understand what you are going through. Been there many times. I have lost a fair amount of weight since 2015 and have been pretty successful at keeping it off. I would log it on here, but found the same thing. i thought I would just wing it. So 15 pounds crept back on....yikes...
don't get me wrong I am still feeling proud of my initial loss, i know how to lose, now to maintain.
First step, get back on here and log my food, log my exercise. I decided this time to blog, get a bunch of friends, cheer people on, get involved in the day to day activity of making it fun....
I hope that helps....You hang in there...before you know it you will be right back on the track you chose....

I just started maintaining and it's as tough as I've read! It sounds like you know what to do, tighten up your logging. Times when I've struggled to refocus some things that helped were trying a new workout, trying new recipes, and trying a new food. I need to listen to my own advice, I'm up a few pounds too! As far as motivation goes, sometimes just keeping up the habit is important until motivation kicks back in. Best of luck!

Your first goal is to contain the damage and not continue to re gain uncontrollably, what with the holidays and starting to feel "I might as well give up".

The I give up or I don't care is where the battle gets lost, anything else and you're still in the game!!!

Some weight uptick is perfectly normal: sodium, time off the month, new exercise. Many people consider a 5-8 lb band to be their maintenance range.

I use a weight trend app (and am male), so my desired band is about 4lbs of trending weight. Which still translates to a good 8lbs of scale for a year I ended within a half lb of where I started.

However making silly decisions during the holidays has the potential for having to join the January rush.... so don't.

Instead of trying to lose, concentrate on logging and hitting your maintenance goal.

Once you get that consistent, then lower your goal by 150 Cal. Yes, not even 250 :)

The one thing you have at maintenance is time. You don't need drastic adjustments to create results over time!!!

I fell off the wagon for awhile this year and gained back 15 lbs. Getting back on track was a bumpy road as I had trouble getting that motivation/determination back again. For me, it helped to find a 3 week program to follow. I used Beachbody on Demand but FitnessBlender has much cheaper ones. But basically, I didn’t want to have all my effort in my workouts to be wasted because my diet was crap. And it gave me a short period of time to focus on. I just needed to do this for 3 weeks and by the end of the three weeks I was back in the groove of things.

The motivation is for you to be the best you that you can be! Get it?😄

Roller coasters go up n down for a reason... maybe you just needed a little blow out. Your human.

You’ve come far, find something positive to look forward to and raise your game again... 👌🏽
