question about measurements

Since I began on Jan. 12 I have never taken measurements. Is this a better way of seeing how much your losing rather than the scale or both? I know some people say they have lost a couple sizes and I have yet to try on anything new but can tell my clothes are a lot baggier.

Thanks for the help

like any weight loss tool (the scale, BMI, Body fat %, overall feeling of health) it's a good supplimental statistic. It shouldn't be your sole measurement. But it is a great one for telling if it's working or not. The down side is it's a more long term tool, I.E. most people don't see significant measurement differences every week, but once a month is a good time period for it. Use it like you use the scale, I.E. don't depend on the numbers, but record them and look at the bigger picture to be sure you are trending in the right direction.

I weigh every morning and take measurements once a month (hips, waist, thighs, stomach, chest) and record my progress. I keep my current numbers on a post-it on my bathroom mirror as a reminder every morning of how I am changing. My weight can fluctuate depending on the time of the month, my water intake, salt intake, etc, but the inches remind me that I am actually shrinking, regardless of what the scales may say that day.

As I am new to this site, Im wondering how often you should weigh yourself? I weighed in a few days ago when I joined and took my measurements at that time.
