I also lost inches all over my body. The main places is my hips, I lost around my hips 3.5 inches. I am very happy but I was wondering how I am able to spot lose in one area. I have a thick(lol ) hourglass figure. My hips are the largest fat part.:embarassed:
Is this normal, will I lose the most weight there? Where did you guys lose your weight first?
Thanks

Everyone loses weight differently. I lost SIGINIFICANTLY from my bust first. But then I lost other places and it all evened out. If your hips are large, proportionately, then that is your shape and once you reach your goal weight it is likely your hips will still be large proportionately. For me it's my thighs, they are quite large proportionately and I hate them but I hae come to accept it. :flowerforyou: You can't "spot reduce" on purpose, but sometimes your body does it naturally. :drinker:0

:flowerforyou: Hi! Congrat's on the 6 pounds!
My YMCA trainer said that you lose in your legs and arms first. Ladies lose in their torso last because we need to have that body fat in order to have a baby in a famine. It is genetics.
I've lost 4 inches off my hips and 5 inches off my waist so far. It's been 9 weeks and I've lost 20 pounds so far.
Isn't this website great? I wouldn't have been able to do as well without it.0 -
I am hour glass too, and lost a bit all over........kind of evenly.
There really is no way to spot lose. The old do 50 situps and lose tummy fat has been determined a myth by even the medial community.
Keep up the good work! You are a beautiful woman and now are making your body healthier!

I have an annoying hour glass shape. Big bust and wide hips. I lost a lot of inches in my waist (go figure) but nothing in my bust and maybe one inch in my thighs/hip area. I think we all just have to accept our body type and go from there...0

Congrats on the loss!!!:flowerforyou: :drinker: Unfortunately for the most part fat distribution is genetic. You can do exercises to target certain areas to increase definition and get some fat loss in those areas that way, but mostly our genetics choose where we lose and when. I would love to slim my legs that always seems to be the last place to go down though even though it is the part I exercise the most. :grumble: Guess we have to take what we can get.:flowerforyou:0

Usually the first place i lose it is under my boobs u can actually see a difference that boob and belly isnt the same lol0

I like the "so we can have babies theory". I've heard that!
How come the youngster lost her belly first, and me, the old one, loses belly last?
There will be no babies for me!
Anthropologists.....where did I go wrong? :bigsmile:0 -
Great job:flowerforyou: I've lost mine all over. But you can really see it in my face.:bigsmile:0

its the cardio that burns fat, and genetics really determines how and where you lose, but you will notice a difference if you're doing some strength training as well....strengthening and tightening and elongating muscles will help you slim down as well.
Congrats on your six pounds that's an awesome start!!!0 -
If you want to try something that helps, you might consider doing HCG injections. (I put a lot of info in my post 'HCG'.
HCG helps to peel off the abnormal fat deposits, leaving the 'normal' and desirable fat intact. Yes, we do have desirable fat- the fat pads on the bottoms of our feet (that many aerobics minded people lose), the fat that cushions our internal organs, the fat in our brains (yes, brains are very fatty), and for most women, their breasts. It helps you to lose it and keep it off by resetting the way your hypothalamus stimulates your body to handle the calories that you eat. It also tends to peel fat off the 'pregnancy storage spots' like your hips. And for me, it is working wonders on my abdomen- the only part of me that really has any visible fat. When my 12 year old son saw me in a more form fitting shirt the other day, I got a 'wow, Mom, you are getting skinny in your belly!!'
I have been on the effective part of the program for 19 days as of today, and am down 17 pounds.
