My husband has Parkinson's. It is very stressful for both of us because we do not know what our future is going to be like, I was doing weight watchers and lost 30 pounds, then my husband was having hallucinations for six weeks. Hallucinations are a part of Parkinson's, and is very stressful. since then I just can not stick with the weight watchers. I need help understanding why I can not do the weight watchers anymore. I joined my fitness pal to get more help.

You are turning to food to aleviate the stress you feel. Most people will do that - and use food as a copeing mechanism. When stressed, try walking around or some other type of activity instead of eating. It's not easy - God Bless and Good Luck!:flowerforyou:

I agree with the other poster. You need to find an effective way to reduce stress that does NOT include food.

My husband has Multiple Sclerosis, I'm a wife, a mom, a full time nursing student. Yet I have found that I can't provide for others unless I take time for ME. That means 45ish min of exercise all to myself 5/6 days a week. Only then can I be a good wife, caregiver, and mother, let alone be a good student.

Learning how to cope with stress as a caregiver of a spouse with any chronic disease is hard and I highly suggest you find an organization in your area to help you with that. The National MS Society has chapters all over so I keep in touch with a few other spouses and my husband keeps in touch with others with MS that way.

I did WW for a while and had some success, but not as much as I've had with MFP. For me, I think it's the support factor. I have so many wonderful MFP friends who are more motivating, encoraging and inspiring than anyone I have ever encountered. They're also not afraid to put me in check or kick me in the butt if I need it. Of course, the fact that MFP is FREE is a huge benefit.

Hang in there. We're all in this together and we're all here to help. YOU CAN DO THIS!

Welcome. Wow you have your plate full.,,,no wonder it is difficult to focus on your diet..... Stress can definitely have an affect on your weight. MFP can be helpful to track your food and exercise as well as getting support and motivation from others. You should add friends to get the support and motivation you will need to stay focused on your goal. I wish you all the best in your weight loss goals and my thoughts are with you in regards to your husband's illness.
