Hi,

I just started a thread about what people are looking forward to about losing weight and a lot of the responses were clothing based, so I thought I'd start a thread for people to post good shops/items they've seen that are suitable for plus size people. Everyone deserves to be able to wear nice clothes that they feel comfortable in, regardless if they're losing weight or not.

Here are my favourite sites to visit:

Asos Curve - sizes up to a UK 28 - http://www.asos.com/Women/Curve/Cat/pgecategory.aspx?cid=9577
Style369.com - Evans' cooler little sister. Still the same crappy skirts though. Sizes to 28, but some are range sized (ie. 22-24, not 22 or 24) - http://www.style369
Prototype Design (Etsy Shop)[/url] - This woman is based in Hog Kong and makes great skirts. They're really well made and the sizing is fair to generous. I really can't recommend her enough and it's so reasonably priced - http://www.etsy.com/shop/prototypedesign"
Very.com - They have a massive range of stuff and recently it's got a lot better. It's well worth a look.http://www.very.co.uk/women/size-16/e/b/1962/s/bestsellers,0.end?trail=1589-1962&nav=top

Any more suggestions? I left out SimplyBe and Yours because I figured everyone will have heard of them.

This list is very UK based at the moment, so other nationalities feel free to get involved.

p.s. sorry it looks kind of messy, obviously you can' post actual links on the site.

  • I'm a big fan of Torrid (www.torrid.com) despite the fact that I can't buy their jeans at the moment. But very cute tops, with vanity sizing 0-5 which generally is as follows:
    0 = 12 or L
    1 = 14/16 or 1X
    2 = 18/20 or 2X
    3 = 22/24 or 3X
    4 = 26/28 or 4X
    5 = 30/32 or 5X

    I LOVE Torrid which is kind of a punk store but it has plus size clothes that make you feel attractive. Lane Bryant is another good one and Dress barn carries plus sizes.

    I like the stuff from Fashion Bug, especially when they have customer appreciation days and you get your entire order 40% off :)

    Very wide range and hip selection and slightly less pricey then Lane Bryant (http://www.lanebryant.com/), which is another great plus size pic, but pricey in my opinion.

    Avenue(http://www.avenue.com/), also a good plus size pic.

    All trendy plus size close for all ages!

    I LOVEEEE TORRID!

    Also some In-Mall stores have plus size lines if you shop online like Forever 21 and Wet Seal.

    If you like club clothes (smile), try:

    greatglam.com
    plussizefix.com

    Try discount stores too like Marshalls. You never know.......

    I love Fashion Bug, too. Don't have one near me, but my sister took me to one while I was visiting her, and I bought everything I tried on - I was bad that day. BUT with their sales, and the 40% off thing, I ended up paying for five items what only the dress would have cost.

    this is an awesome thread.

    i'm a very big fan of Torrid as well. but i can't afford a lot of stuff they have on sites so i'm usually at Old Navy. they're the only place that carries jeans that fit me right.

    this site sells some awesome dresses for plus sized girls and they really aren't that expensive:

    it's got a vintage feel to it and i am a sucker for vintage dresses!

    Eshakti makes me sad that it doesn't post to the UK. There are loads of lovely dresses in there. Some totally gross ones too, but most are ace!

    Glad this thread has some replies. Feel free to post any pictures.

    I used to LOVE Lane Bryant, but all their jeans come up to my boobs now and let's be real - that's not a flattering look on anyone imo. lol
