I have fallen completely off the wagon and can't seem to motivate myself to eat healthy or exercise πŸ™„πŸ™„. I managed to keep weight off for 12 years and for the last 2 it has been gradually creaping back on. I hate the way I look in clothes but can't seem to move my *kitten*!! Please help πŸ₯ΊπŸ™

Instead of trying to motivate yourself to eat healthily or exercise, perhaps start small, just try logging your food for a couple of days with a food scale and see where you can make portion sizes a little smaller and make a couple of small swaps to get you to a small deficit.

Just keep making small changes until you form better habits again. No motivation needed, you just need to find your routine again.

Motivation is an emotion like happiness or sadness or joy. We're not always 100% the same emotion 100% of the time.

Routine and habit will get you through but it takes time to establish routine and create the habits. Just do it and stick with it.

I find it helpful to look at what might be distracting my focus away from my fitness goals. That line of thinking leads me to revisiting the reasons I started working out and eating more thoughtfully.

I started it because I wanted to see a smaller, more fit and trim ME in the mirror image.

Sometimes, I let myself fall into some kind of dark space that gets annoyed because nothing else in my life has changed due to losing weight.

Then, I have to grab onto my boot straps with both hands, lock on tightly and pull up - remember, it's about me seeing a better me in the mirror. period. end of discussion. get back on the right food and fitness track, and don't forget to have some fun in life.

good luck to us all; the ride never ends.
