Hi, i am new to this site. my son and daughter in law are using it and like it alot. I have a goal to lose 15 lbs. I have been having trouble with my knees due to arthritis, so walking and dancing has been difficult, as I did those quite a bit. I have been going to the indoor pool 5 days a week for water stretching exercises for my knees and I still try to walk. all my weight is in my thighs and hip area. any suggestions for exercise would be appreciated. I eat healthy but can't always think of what is good for snacks. any suggestions?
any tips on using this site would also be appreciated.
thanks and good luck to everyone here.

I'm not sure how limited you are with the arthritis, but I suffer from patellar tracking disorder. Basically, I'm limited on my workouts also, cannot run for the rest of my life, and have constant clicking/pain in my knees. For workouts, biking is excellent. When I went for physical therapy years ago, the best thing to do was wall squats with a ball between your legs or an exercise ball behind your back, biking, and lifts with ankle weights. Of course, I do much more now, but those would be a good start if you are trying to test you limits on the pain in your knees. Best of luck to you!

    HI,

I have issues with my knees from a high school injury. I love doing water aerobics and esp love the walking lane in the gym pool which i walk and jog in it. I only do this 2 times a week about 20 minutes and sure makes a difference on my knees. Swimming is also great as well. Hope this helps out.

Hi Mom! Welcome to MFP. Take your measurements and keep track of everything...it really helps to show your progress! If you click on My Home at the top, and then "Weigh In" on the left hand side, you'll see. You can customize too. I'll show all the cool little tools built into this site next time I'm down.

Well...just got done my 20 min exercise. I'll show you that DVD too...intense, but you can scale it down.

Couldn't agree more. VERY excellent on the knees. Forgot to include this one! Just make sure to watch your breathing in the pool. It's a lot different than out of the water and you need to be more self aware.
