OLIVE GARDEN...AKA "Evil Place"

I was just posting on my friends diary that I try not to go there because I would eat the entire restaurant (seriously), but when I do...

GOTTA get those breadsticks girlllll. Oh and a smidge of the alfredo dipping sauce. I can usually eat 3 breadsticks (this being why I never go there!) and still have room for some of my meal...but my boyfriend makes fun of me when I tell the waiter/waitress "Ok. Here's the plan. I'm only allowed to get one more basket of breadsticks, then that's it. If I ask for more, tell me no. I will be upset with you if you bring me more, because I will eat them, and I don't need to!!!" :blushing:

BUT THEY'RE SO ADDICTING!

Anywho, just was wondering, where is YOUR fast food/restaurant naughty place that you could seriously eat two days calories worth in one sitting? :indifferent:

Where just thinking about the food they serve makes your mouth water when you just sit down at your table?

WHERE...you have to go every once and awhile so you don't go crazy or verbally lash out at your loved ones because you feel as though you've been deprived?

TELL ME!

Mine is a local place called Phillys. Awesome Philly Cheesesteak Sandwiches....Homemade Beer Battered onion rings...Homemade funnel cake batter for the cakes. It's terribly unhealthy, but incredibly delicious. A few times a year I have to give in and go have some. ;)

I really Love the Olive Garden too, but probably would consider Arby's my weakness! Just bc it's baked doesn't mean it's healthy! And what's a roast beef without curly fries??? I am so into food that it really doesn't matter where I go, it is a struggle for me. But I am learning and getting better!

Actually, THE worst restaurant across the board is the Cheesecake Factory. Most of their items was the #1 bad foods for different categories. PRETTY SAD.

My enemy is places like Chipotle and Taco Del Mar. And then here in Seattle we have Cupcake Royale, which is, by the way, totally worth bombing my food diary with up to 600 calories in one sitting every month or so.

Chipotle is not THAT bad. You could eat worse, like McDonald's or Wendy's. I have eaten Chipotle 3 times in the past month and i lost 10 pounds. It's all about their ingredients. Good meat...Not processed like mcdonalds patties. Plus, if you get a burrito bowl, instead of a burrito, it will save you like 300 calories! But yeah, chipotle is definitely my weakness!!!!

This great Italian place here called Geppeto's.. They have the best pizza in town. I always get a deep dish pepperoni and pineapple <3 aaaaahhhh now I want pizza and btw I just ate dinner :-) seriously though I eat like 3 slices and this slices are sooooo filling!!! The cheese is all mozzarella and they pile it on .... You know its good pizza when you take a slice and you have to wrap the extra cheese around a fork like 6 times before it detaches from the rest of the pie LOL YUMMY!!! I am guessing that one slice of this pizza is near 800 calories :-/

Oh and I have to drink Heineken when I eat this pizza .. so the calories just increased by like 200 calories LOL
  • Lol its funny that you mention Olive Garden.. Im planning a trip in 2 weeks, and scouted out the restaurants that are in that area, so i could hit their menus and "prepare" my order in case i went to one....... the OLIVE GARDEN..of course is the one place my son and his friends are wanting to take me out to... so what am i to do...... Ill tell you.. 1 breadstick.. a ton of salad.. order the best option for myself and split it in half. and eat the leftovers for lunch the next day......

I meant calorie wise. I know the ingredients are great, and I only ever get vegetarian, but I always want EVERYTHING on it, plus chips on the side. It adds up quickly if you're not paying attention.

Good for you!!! I would have caved in and went anyway LOL

When I go to olive garden I have the waiter/waitress bring me a togo box with my food so that I can immediately cut my portion in half (I do this at a few other places also). I also instruct them to bring no extra breadsticks :-) I've learned that although it makes me a little annoying, I am a paying customer so I can be as annoying as I wish LOL

be careful with the salad they over do it on the dressing so its more calories then you would think.. so if I were you I would ask for lite dressing and get it on the side :-)

yes, that's what i meant too! I mean, i guess you kinda have to save Chipotle for a day where you're not planning on eating much lol. Plus Chipotle keeps you full for a long time, so i guess it balances out. But it's still better than eating 1400 cals at McDonald's. lol :) My burrito bol has 645 calories in it if i remember correctly. I miss the chips but oh well it's worth cutting those xtra calories out.
  • Panera. I know they aren't the worst, but if you eat a whole panini, a cup of soup AND a bakery treat they are!

oh but they are soooo goood

Is it worse than Maggianos? If you have ever taken the time to go and fine the calorie count for their food (which they try REALLY hard to keep off the internet) you'll be disgusted.

Literally an entire days worth of calories in one meal, and I'm talking about when you're MAINTAINING. Not losing. ugh, so sad :(

Which is funny because McDonald's owns Chipotle. :)

  • I'm an OG freak also. I can go and eat a whole basket of bread and a boat of alfredo sauce allllll by myself and STILL have room for almost all of my plate of chicken alfredo. I guess it's a good thing that i live in Key West and the closest OG is in Miami.......

We have a local restaurant chain that is only in my area called Zips. The. Best. Fries. EVER. And don't even get me started on their tartar sauce. Yeah. Once every couple of months I break down and get a double burger and fries with tarter from that place.

Heaven will serve Zips with beer. At least...my Heaven will!

ONE serving of Olive Garden Salad is 350 Calories -1930 mg Sodium - 26 g Total Fat :noway:
So you might want to rethink having "a ton of salad".

Cold Stone is the only thing I quit cold turkey. Everywhere else, I still eat at.

There are some decent menu choices at Olive Garden... the breadsticks are definitely evil though. Good thing I never liked them in the first place (don't like how salty they are).
