Hi! Anyone out there have braces on their teeth? I will be 60 in October and have been in braces for the last nine months. I've always dreamed of having straight teeth and thought I was just too old. But one day I just thought - the heck with it! I'm going to do it! So far I'm so happy with my decision! I'm on my final wire and they will possibly come off in August! It's all part of self care. I eat healthy, work out, why not have a great set of choppers too! #itsnevertoolate

Forrest Gump or PornHub?
A combination of both2 -
Good for you for getting them! I never had braces and I'm happy with my smile, but I do have a front tooth that kind of overlaps, ugh. I've had several different dentists tell me "you should have worn that retainer after braces and it wouldn't have shifted!"
Anyone else hate that their health insurance covers like $10,000 of orthodontia for each dependent child but $0 for adults? Ridiculous IMO.1 -
I had braces when I was younger, but I pulled them off when I was 14.. in the garage.. with plyers..
As an adult, I had told my dentist the story, he laughed and said at least they did the job first..3 -

I have a PERMANENT retainer on my bottom teeth from when I got my braces off at 14 and the front teeth shifted Top ones are good though, I wore my top retainer for years after wards (mainly just at night)1 -

I have to have some crowns placed and the dentist said that if I don't get my bite corrected first there's no guarantee they'll last. No way am I spending that kind of money on crowns only to have them crack or break because I was too vain to wear braces for a couple of years. So at 52 I'm joining the braces club. My kids are already laughing at me.4

It's been worth the investment! I was originally told my treatment time would be 18 months. Now it looks like they might come off in August which will only be one year!2

I'm getting braces in a few weeks and I'm 41! Can't wait I've been wanting them since I was a teenager. Will be expensive but totally worth it in my opinion.0

Day three of wearing braces. It's not as painful as I was expecting. Takes forever to brush my teeth now though.
I'm in the early days of discovering food nonos and I definitely won't be eating pea and ham soup again The one I'm currently eating isn't fully blended and I'm feeling pieces of pea skin and ham chunks getting stuck all over my brackets lol
I won't be back in my office until Thursday so I have time to try and get used to talking and trying to close my mouth without looking and feeling too uncomfortable.2 -
I had braces when younger, and I just got them again as an adult (age 40). They didn't extract any teeth to ease crowding before, so the teeth just got crooked/overlapped again over time. AND my parents never bought me a retainer. This time, I am having a tooth pulled from lower and upper teeth to make spacing and bite better. I did have to get bite blocks (bump turbos) on my upper molars, so I am making use of a blender now. Braces do force you to eat healthier if you care about taking care of your dental hardware and not having stained teeth when your brackets are removed. Good luck to all on a straight teeth journey!1

I have braces as a young teen and when my teeth shifted enough to create dental difficulties, I did Invisalyn. I finished in 2013. DD did Invisalyn too and both of us were really happy with our results.1
