Thanks, I did need this today!!
Tomorrow...right back at it.2 -
I purposely didn't do my daily cardio when I got home last night as I knew I'd be considering going longer to burn off everything I ate. I agree that it's once a year, balance is important.2

So true!1

Really needed to hear this! Thank you. So true2

I definitely needed to hear this- becuase i was "considering" getting on the scale today to see the "damage" then I decided not too- I just enjoyed- NOw i will go back to eating in a blanced way and i will geton the scale when it is my usual day to weigh myself- I KNOW that i would have beat myself up aboout any weight gain- thanks for posting3

I got on the scale to survey the damage this morning and was up 16.2 lbs LOL It's my all time record; my previous was 13.4 pounds. Someone pulled out a giant brie log *after* we were already filled to neck level with food. Then came the chocolate ...
I'm long past the freak-out stage from scale readings. I already know where this is going -- 5 days of diligent dieting to get the scale back to where it was on Christmas Eve, and in the end, a month from now, I'll be 0.8 - 1.2 lbs heavier than if I hadn't indulged.
I don't regret a single calorie of it. Nobody can be a locked-down discipline machine every day of the year. Even Navy SEALS get time off to go unwind and hit the bars. Sometimes you just have to embrace the madness; it's part of life, in fact one of the better parts imho.8 -
To the OP: YupYupYupYupYUP.
My SIL's cheesy potatoes (real potato chunks, cream cheese, sour cream, green olives (plus bacon for the omnivores, but a special dish without, for me )) had calories visibly crawling all over them, I swear. And that wasn't all I ate/drank. So rich & delicious: That yumminess and the baked-in love made me happy.
Scale up a couple pounds today, be back down in a few days . . . or so 4+ years of maintenance suggests.6 -
Yes, love this! I didn't even log yesterday, just let the day happen and enjoyed every minute of it.3

I see my Disagree troll has decided not to take the holidays off. Must be exhausting.10

I agree w/ deb. I skipped my weekly weigh in for the first time since August. My plan is to avoid the scale until next time, that way I've already been back on track for a week, then it cant even phase me. The damage is done and I enjoyed it. Moving on1

I went in to Christmas at my lowest weight, today I am maybe a half pound up, still low in my maintenance range, and there's STILL a voice in my head. Half a freakin' pound, give me a break, brain.4

My gosh. Thank you!!! I needed that today. cheers.1

Definitely needed this!! I've been feeling so guilty for "falling off track". So, it's back to it!1

That’s the way to do it! I felt way too sick off macaroni and cheese and ignored cookies. And I love my cookies!0
