Trying to get it together in my 4th decade, so I can start living in my 5th

I'm 41 and have struggled with weight on and off for years. By the time I enter my 5th decade my 5th child will be ready to graduate high school. I'm ready to live, travel, party play. So decided its time to get my health and my mind in shape now. I know it's not going to be easy breaking 20+ years of bad habits (because they started way before my metabolism, abandoned me). But I'm ready to take it one day at a time and form new habits. I want to avoid the surgery route if at all possible (seems extreme since I'm less than 100 lbs from my ideal weight). Would love to meet like minded people, so we can support one another. You know when the 5th decade hits and I'm traveling, I may need a couch or two to crash on (jk but may need folks to travel and visit, to thank personally for being the inspiration that helped get me through). Sorry for the long winded ramble, if you're still here and interested add me.

Hi mstlaw78, I am in a similar situation where I am feeling unhealthy, I have less than 100 lbs for my ideal weight. My youngest will be 18 in 13 years. I am wanting to travel and have fun with my family. Are you a lawyer? I am studying for the LSAT. I am 36 and have my political science degree. Would love to get into lawschool make some big bucks and lose 50 lbs for 2020.1
