Getting Healthy for Baby!

Hi All - I wanted to start a group for those that are trying to get pregnant. My husband and I have been trying for years and have finally had a breakthrough. However, during the 3 years to find the cause and address the health issue that was causing infertility, I gained 20 lbs which is not healthy for pregnancy. I’m trying to lose the weight but more focus on being my healthiest self to best prepare myself for hopefully pregnancy and baby. I’m tracking SW/GW but realize that those may change if we do get pregnant. More importantly I’m tracking my workouts and how healthy I’m eating since those habits need to be solid regardless of weight.

H: 5’4”
SW: 182 (1/1/20)
GW: 165

Me too. Need to get to a BMI below 30 which realistically Im hoping to aim for a bmi of 29 or 28. Currently 84kg and 5”4. Gained 10kg in 6 months during treatments so need to lose all that hormonal induced bloating & hunger strikes!
    Good luck x

Hi, I'd love to join you in this! I had a miscarriage at 11 weeks about a year ago and have put on over a stone since then (a lot of comfort eating!). I think it would really help to loose the weight again to help us have a baby and be healthy when it happens! I haven't been brave enough to weigh myself lately but I'll do it over the weekend. I think I'm going to be a few pounds over 10 stone and a healthy weight for me would be closer to 9 stone. I really want to keep an eye on waist measurements too as I know mine is too high. I could really do with having some accountability! The most important thing for me is getting back into exercise again and eating healthily, and hopefully I'll loose weight along the way.

I love this! I'm getting healthier after 4 miscarriages to see if a lower BMI would help

How’d everyone do the first week of the year? What steps are y’all taking to get healthy for baby? I’m trying to be consistent about working out (which I enjoy and usually isn’t the problem for me) and consistently eat at about 80/20. I’m doing “If It Meets Your Macros” trying to be realistic that with work travel and life, I’m unlikely to ever eat clean all the time. But if I can at least stick to the macro breakdown I make better choices.

Jan 5: 181 - this weekend I stuck to IIMYM 5 out of 6 days and got in all of my workouts. Plus I got in a gallon or more of water every day.

Hope everyone kicks off this week righ!

Here is an existing group of women who are either losing before TTC or actively TTC. The group has been a little quiet lately and would benefit from new members. https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/111647-planning-for-pregnancy
