I am so amazed that I got up first thing this am and DID IT! WE DID IT! lol I don't even recognize myself. And in 30 days, nobody else will either

does anyone know what size weights they are using in the videos?
I have 5lb dumbbells at here, but they were waaayyyy to heavy for some of the moves.

I think they use 3 pound weights. That's what I started with.

If this works and doesn't kill me, I'm going to do it November, February, April & June - months that have 30 days (cept feb, almost but it's winter & boring) and also before/around the holidays (summer)

I started with 3lb weights and moved up to 5lbs on my 2nd round :)

It's 30 Day Shred - a 20 minute workout dvd from Jillian Michaels. There are 3 levels, too, so you can increase your intensity over time.

I forgot to wear my HRM (lol) so I logged it as general circuit training. I'll see what the HRM says tomorrow. I'm logging it, just to be accountable; not eating the cals back (maybe 100 or so, depends how weight loss goes)

are they saying logging it as circuit training is not the proper way of logging it???

I was looking at heart rate monitors, and I see they can be rather pricey so which one do you have and how much??

I have the polar ft4 which was recommended to me and it has a chest strap which I was told gives you a more accurate calorie burn I love it :)

i also have the polar ft4. a lot of people say amazon is the cheapest but im from canada and had no luck. i tried ebay but kept getting beat out. i ended up at this place called fitness source and got 20% off with their vip card, it came to 126 bucks. i felt guilty spending it at first, but it has been well worth it!

no, not at all, I read it SHOULD be logged as circuit training if you don't have an actual heart rate

I am just about finished with the 30DS. When I travel for business I take it with me! For weights I just buy a couple of 1.5litre bottles of water then I push the bed to the side and get cracking.

how is everyone doing so far?

Hiya, I don't know if I'm too late, but I started 30DS today and I'm absolutely shattered. I was a little scared at first about how hard it is on your knees. I did find it was a little tough on my dodgey knees lol, but I did my own stretches and jumped in the bath afterwards to help soothe any achey knees. My knees feel absolutely fine now :)

How are you finding it, now your four days in? x

So this evening I will be doing my fourth day at level 1.
On my second day, I really hurt my arm, so day 3 had to be done without weights.
But I went out today and bought some lighter ones and I'm ready to give it my all again this evening!
(I like doing my workout while hubby bathes the kids or after they've gone to bed, so I have "me" time.)

i am on day 5 today. i first tired this about 2 years ago and i hadn't been working out. it totally kicked my *kitten*. i was so sore i was embarrassed to walk up the stairs at work. every muscle killed! at the time i didnt have any support or know anyone who got results. and basically quit after maybe 2 weeks or doing it every other day or so.

since then i have bee workout more and have done turbo fire for a month before i started the 30ds again. i skipped level1. yesterday i did turbo fire 45 and 30ds and my legs were killing. i seem fine today  i will stick through this since seeing before and afters on mfp. i hope i see results too!
