37yo, 173cm/5'8" female in Amsterdam
Start weight: 74kg
Goal weight: 70kg
My body is my ally
R100 EW: 73.1kg
01/08 73.4kg - YWA day 6, no run, 16hrs fast
01/09 73.0kg - no yoga and no run, 15hrs fast, TOM is imminent
Sometimes the body just takes what it needs, this morning that was a little extra sleept. Date night, including dinner, drinks and comedy.
01/10 73.2kg - YWA day 7, no run, 13hrs fast
Forgot to post during the day yesterday and then couldn't access last night.
And today, we had this office thing where everyone got a piece of cake, which I couldn't get out of without causing discussions.
01/11 73.2kg - 15hrs fast, short speed run, YWA day8
Still waiting for TOM. Woke up super hungry, so didn't quite make it to 16hrs after a night out yesterday,
01/12 72.6kg - 5mile run, YWA day 9, 17hr fast
Great end to the week. My average fasting time is 15.6hrs, so I'll work towards increasing that by end of the round.
Weekly steps: 72k - didn't do 10k each day, but caught up on Sunday
01/13 72.7kg - rest day, 17hrs fast
01/14 73kg, weighed after exercise, 5k run in the wind&rain, YWA day 10, 17hrs fast
Couldn't get online in the eve, when I wanted to post yesterday's result.
TOM finally made an appearance, which explains my sweets craving yesterday just before my eating window closed. I want to become better at not giving in to those.
01/15 73.1kg, YWA day 11, 17hrs fast, short tempo run
Ugh this is annoying. I had a very short eating window yesterday and then this. Well, I also had a beer after I had closed my eating window. Maybe my body is telling me to stop kidding myself.
01/16 73kg, YWA day 12, no run, 14hrs fast
I gave in to emotional eating at work... And I didn't stop. Ah well new day tomorrow. Come to think of it, sugary snacks just before I stopped eating have probably contributed to my early cravings this morning along with work stress. But I ended the day well with a walk to get my steps in.

08/01- DKW. Missed weighing start. Did a training class and almost 10k steps. Logged food.
09/01- 100.4 kg First day of tracking. Kept it clean (ish) but feeling unconcentrated and tired. I know it is the first 3 days but it is hard.
10/01-99.6 kg. Double digits already. I know it is water weight from eating proper so not expecting the same. Keeping the goal of double digits.
11/01-99.3 kg. Was really hard today. Spent most day cleaning which I don't consider as sports but apparently busted my appetite.
12/01- 99.2 kg .
13/01-98.9kg.
14/01-98.4kg. Didn't eat enough yesterday and this will bite me today since will probably be hungry and tired. And will.most probably see the scale going up tomorrow...
15/01-98.7kg. Yep, as expected. Nice to be aware of this so no big disappointments. Though I know it is too hard to see the scale going up so hopefully will remain in this viscinity tomorrow.
16/01--98.8kg. If it remains under 99 I will be super happy.

R100 1/7/20 -1.7 kg (3.7 lbs)
R101 goal: continue the alternate IF/Keto routine
Day/Weight/Comment
01/08 81,7 kg Yesterday I wasn't really into food, ate anyway to keep metabolism up and running. I think I have never been glad in my life before when I had not to eat anymore;)
01/09 81,9 kg went for a walk, calories were good and managed to fast 24hrs in between meals:) TOM soon to be there, I can feel that I have water retentions which will pass in a few days anyway. Today is a regular eating day. It's morning and I have a feeling that I won't be having any problems this time to eat more:-)
01/10 81,9 kg* Food and calories were all good yesterday. Had a trigger directly after the second meal. When it feels like nothing is going to satisfy you..., probably because of hormones. ACV and green tea helped a bit. Only planned on a short walk, maybe 10 minutes and ended up doing 60 minutes:). Don't know if I wish TOM would be there already, then I get rid of the water retentions (well, that's the only pro...). Plan for today: Fast-day, maybe I make it to 24hrs. 5 more hrs to go:)
01/11 80.7 kg Nice! That's about the weight I had before Christmas. Tried MCT oil, only to learn that mine was made from Palm sth and is not good. So back to coconut oil. Why is that, that I mostly end up throwing away the fancy stuff and in the end stick to my natural foods:-)) I never learn. Should stop watching videos of men with big arm muscles and all the fancy products they are promoting...And it didn't make me more awake when I was tired. Taking an iodine pill did the trick much better. tststs...Calories were good, I fasted for 22 hrs. Exercised only a little, was tired. Which was to be expected - hormones (or rather lack of it shortly before TOM).
01/12 80,2 kg Went for a short walk, it was eating-day, was in calories. Two bigger meals were enough. So my next meal will probably tomorrow around 1pm. Noticed that my favourite ring fits comfortly, even after walking when fingers are thicker. Half a month ago it wouldn't fit at all.
01/13 80,2 kg* Went for a longer walk and hit last weeks's exercise goal:) fasted for 24 hrs. I like the way that I feel in a fasted state. Everything feels a bit calmer and slower - but in a good way. Today TOM is hitting strong.
01/14 80,1 kg Stuck to the plan. I start getting used to the IF and I really like it. Fasting seems to be getting easier by the day. My body responds well to the keto/IF regime. I am waiting for less weight loss though, don't think it will continue forever like this;)
01/15 79,3 kg Okay, now I am under my usual set-point. In the past it was always hard to lose weight once I was in the 70s, but - I am doing great so far. Haha, I don't trust it, yet...Yesterday I didn't give in to one of my usual cravings after work in the night. Good.
01/16 79,3 kg* Another stressful job until into the night and the urge to eat. But I stayed strong and meditated instead which released some of the stress. And I had a keto cacao. Maybe I will take a hot shower too to relax more and not turn to food.

69 years old female...5'5" ...I used to be 5'7" but arthritis hit and I lost two inches, so now that two inches is squished around my waist like the billows of a big accordion... ...Oh, well. I'll just keep working on it.
We used to walk 5 miles a day. A pinched nerve and back surgery side-lined me for about a year. Then I had back surgery. Now I'm waiting to get my hip fixed. Hip Doc said surgery in April. Ugh! I can't do any walking or biking...both kill me. I see my personal trainer three times a week. She is taking it very slow and easy with me.
I got March 10th as my hip surgery date!! Now, if I can just not eat everything in the house waiting for it!

@quiltingjaine Thanks for the article. I have read it before. It is one of the downfalls, IMHO, of a keto or low-carb lifestyle. It mentions even ONE day of over carb can be dangerous. Clearly there will be those days or social engagements. We have all had them. This would not occur with a standard low calorie or low-fat diet. However, I've found that the low carb is what stabilizes my blood glucose the most so I practice low carb for that reason. On my best days I try to watch both cals & carbs. The article definitely makes me feel between a rock and a hard place when determining what method of weight loss would be best for me. Ah....the pros and cons of it all! Honestly, its something that should be weighed out. I will say this. I don't actually plan "cheat days" which is what the article is actually about. I do go over carbs primarily during travel which is usually a couple of times a month. My home is a safety zone for the low-carb lifestyle. What to do...What to do.... It is something I should think about, I thank you for sharing.3

01/08 - 189.4! Wow, down already into the 180s My goal for this challenge is to be in the 180s by the end of it, so hopefully I can maintain this loss. Still feeling sick as a dog, I dont know when I'm going to kick this cold, it's been going on forever. But hopefully if I keep eating healthy and getting lots of sleep, it will go away soon.
01/09 - 189.2! So glad to stay stable! Still really sick, didn't get any work done today, mostly lay in bed sleeping all day. Hoping to be healthier soon but happy to at least still be making progress.
01/10 - 191... up quite a bit and very bummed. Hopefully it's mostly bloat from being sick, but motivating to be stricter about my diet. Feeling a little better today, so I am going to try to get some good work done today but not going to try exercising again until I'm all better.
01/11 - 191.4... womp womp, not what I wanted to see but maybe my body is just recalibrating after last challenge's huge loss.
01/12 - 191! Down a little bit, which is nice. Had a lot of trouble sticking to my diet. It's hard to keep motivation when the scale isnt cooperating, but I'm still so far from where I started that I shouldn't be throwing in the towel so easily. Did better with my diet today
01/13 - 190.4! Yay, at least back to where I started this challenge If I can maintain this or even lose a little by the end of the challenge, I will be happy. First day back at work after being sick, trying to get lots done. Don't want to push myself too hard, because I'm not all the way recovered yet, but doing some light exercise today to get myself back in the fitness game.
01/14 - 190.2! Well, down is down. Did much better on my diet today, now I just gotta get my writing productivity to match it... having such a hard time focusing my thoughts and energies
01/15 - 189.4! Yay, progress! Very happy with myself for that and that I got a lot of work done today. My depression has really been getting out of control lately and making it harder for me to get any work done. I finally faced the facts and saw a psychiatrist and got a Prozac prescription. I don't think it's having any effect yet but just knowing that there may be hope that things will get better made it easier for me today to stick to my diet and get work done.
01/16 - 189.6! Up a little and feeling super bloated today, trying not to get bummed out about it bc I lost so much last round that it makes sense to slow down this round. Got a lot of work done, made a big breakthrough on a project today, and stuck to my food goals.

@MSWDiet - I caved easily without good reason because I've conveniently "forgotten" that I am on a diet for life. This is not a lifestyle choice it is a necessity. I'm determined to regaining my vigilance for doing what works. A major attitude adjustment is in progress. This is me to a t!!!!
@fmfdfa2020 - thats my problem too, I eat one chocolate, biscuit, cake and the flood gates open and I go into a full blown binge not being able to get enough even when my stomach feels full, got to get back to strongly saying "NO" from the outset.
I'm right there with you. Gotta just say no, because right now, one isn't cutting it. Cakes and breads get me every time!7 -

Round 101 (23 for me)
Ready to jump in to the first full round of the year! My goal this round is to get started at my campus fitness center and up my exercise routine – a big deal for me since I’m basically an athletically challenged book nerd who’s never belonged to a gym before. So…I’m a little nervous. Maybe more than a little. But I’m inspired by so many of you here and I’m looking forward to trying something new.

01/08 – 172.0 – Cold and windy, but I took a short walk around campus after I toured the fitness center. We’re still on winter break, so it wasn’t too crowded or intimidating. I’ve got a physical with my new primary care physician tomorrow to get my medical okay and then I should be good to go. Made a delicious, healthy dinner tonight and met my calorie and logging goals. I’m a little surprised at how glad I am to get back to my MFP routine after the holidays.
01/09 – 171.2 – Nice little drop before my appointment today. (Weighed in at 173.0 with shoes and clothes on the doc’s scale.) Waiting on the results of my bloodwork, but my BP is back down to normal – woo hoo! Met up with my daughter for lunch, an indoor walk, and shopping for exercise clothes. Under on calories, but lots of salt, so I may see a bump up tomorrow. Not worried because I’m logging everything and staying on track. And feeling great!
01/10 – 172.2 – There’s that salt bump – happens every time I east out. Walked for over an hour and used some of my exercise calories to have another glass of wine and a piece of chocolate after dinner. Tried a new recipe – Michael Symon’s baked cod shakshuka. Delicious and pretty healthy, although fairly high in sodium. Eating out again tomorrow for my husband’s birthday, so I don’t expect to see a drop for a few days. But I’m going to eat sensibly and otherwise relax and enjoy the weekend.
01/11 – 172.6 – Still climbing, but I’m not going to stress over it. We had a multi-generational birthday celebration for my husband with a a couple of rounds of laser tag followed by a delicious dinner at a local Mexican eatery. We all had a blast! Now I’m totally wiped out!
01/12 – 173.2 – It is what it is. Taking down the tree today, but I’ll try to squeeze in a walk in this unseasonably warm weather. It’s such a gorgeous day that I don’t want to spend it all indoors. Dinner at m mom’s tonight, so I won’t be cooking again, but it’s back to the normal routine tomorrow. (Wrote yesterday’s post last night, but for some reason I couldn’t connect with the server, I gave up and went to bed.)
01/13 – 173.6 – Okay, enough of this. Time to turn this ship around. Walked for an hour in the cool and misty woods, working up a sweat on the hilly terrain. Stopped for an herbal iced tea at a nearby café and was sorely tempted by their luscious blueberry hand pies. But I resisted (and kept to my calorie limit) – guess that’s today’s NSV.
01/14 – 172.8 – That’s a little better. Another day of sticking to my calorie limit and staying hydrated. Rainy day and I had a lab test, so I made this my rest day. Got my doc’s sign-off for the gym with no restrictions, so I’m almost there.
01/15 – 172.8 – Last day of nice weather before it gets cold again, so I walked for an hour at the beach after class. I love the colors of the ocean in that last hour of sunlight! Lunch out tomorrow, so I ate carefully today.
01/16 – 172.2 – Nice to see another drop, but I totally blew my calorie budget on a wonderful lunch out with my sister and our daughters. My sis had chosen a lovely restaurant with a classic French bistro menu. I skipped the wine but couldn’t resist the croque monsieur. Totally worth it, even if I’m working off the sodium for a couple of days. I hadn’t planned on ordering dessert, but it didn’t take much arm twisting to get me to split a chocolate and salted caramel tart with my sister. No regrets, but it’s a good thing the restaurant is an hour away.

OSW 88KG
RSW 59.85 kg (-28.15 kg) or {- 62 lbs}
Goal... Less than I started
01/08 60.0kg...slight uptick but it was all perfect yesterday so I'm not worried. Gym done just stretching to do later.
01/09 60.10 kg. Another minor uptick without a reason as all was perfect yesterday. Plenty of days left for it to go again. Trainers other clients didn't show up this morning so I got his undivided attention... Abs aren't convinced this is a good thing!
01/10 60.10kg and another great workout. Physio this pm for a sports massage. Can't wait for the weekend!
01/11 59.45kg...that was my lowest last year. Now to see new lows. Today I'm going to clean out the sewing room and do my stretches as I've missed then out the last 2 days.
01/12 59.0kg...a new low! So pleased the hard work has paid off this week. Sewing shed cleaned out but stretches not done. Going to do it today morning and evening.
01/13 58.90 kg 1st time for seeing 58 anything since I went above it! Will probably bounce up but I'm happy. Trainer was on fire this morning... Full body plus cardio 💪
01/14 59.2kg. Not a problem as I usually get an uptick after a loss. Just need to keep it small. Gym was tough... Lower body.
01/15 58.8kg.Delighted with the loss! It's a public holiday here in Malawi so I'll be going to the gym a bit later and will do stretches after.
01/16 58.6kg losing like its my 1st week! Gym done and on to work
01/17 59.20kg no reason for the gain but I'm not worried as it seems much more realistic.

1/8: 208.4 — surprised as I’ve been tracking well, in decent calorie deficit for a week with no big sodium intake or anything. But the point of a 10 day challenge is to track and find patterns to adjust, right? So I’ll keep tracking to find the pattern...
1/9: 207.6 — there it is! Kept to my plan, and now seeing what I expect.
1/10: 208.0 — and there it goes (again)! In deficit (a lot), good workout, no major sodium, but ate dinner very late and woke feeling bloated. New scale, too, maybe this is just reflective of its precision. Will keep to plan and cross fingers a big drop will come before the end!
1/11: 207.2 —ok, whew! Up 0.4/0.6, down 0.8, I can live with that on a daily basis. I’m going to keep keeping on, no adjustments yet. Keep tracking my pattern
1/12: 207.0—ok, good direction. Still feels slow but am in this for the long haul.

1/16 207.4—frustrating!

So...I was anxious about today’s weigh in for good reason. Went up by 0.4, despite eating significantly under calorie target for 1lb/week loss. Had to talk myself out of a funk and figure out potential causes:
1. hormonal fluctuations—I’m peri-menopausal, it could be signaling TOM even if nothing else is happening.
2. I significantly underestimated the calories in all the restaurant food while traveling
3. I need to add more strength training
4. My body just loves my fat cells too much to let go...
Tomorrow is another day, another chance for results. At least I’m still less than I started for the round!9 -

08 jan: 86.9 kg; worked hard cleaning out the rest of the garage, walked the dog for about an hour and a half in total and ate well.
09 jan: 86.8 kg; Yesterday a pallet of firewood we bought was delivered to my house. It was too high to enter the (now cleaned) garage.... so I went up en down the 2-step stairs taking off 2 layers of wood, put it in the garage, then cut a piece of the top of the pallet, my husband drove it in the garage, and I ended up going up and down the stairs again putting all the woodblocks back on top of the other ones. I tought that was enough workout for the day..... Stayed in kcalgoal and walked the dog for an hour and a half of course.
10 jan: 86.5 kg; Strong Curves week 2 workout 2 🏋️♀️ done in stead of yesterday. Walked a bit less than I had planned, since the dog was under the weather, but still managed to have over 10.000 steps 👣.
11 jan: 86.2 kg; Strong Curves week 2 workout 3 🏋️♀️ completed, going to enjoy the weekend!
12 jan: 85.8 kg; Had a lovely relaxed day. Today is the last day that the dog and kids are in the house. Next week Sunday evening they will be back again (co-parenting). Trying to walk as much as I can on my own this week, before I start working again on thursday.
13 jan: 85.7 kg: It was a lazy Sunday, just walked an hour and a half.
14 jan: 85.7 kg; Yesterday I saw somewhere on the forum a discussion where pop-tart was mentioned. I realy like them, but they are not widely avaliable here in the Netherlands. So I took my 🚴♀️, biked 15 miles to get a single package in the house. After luch I finished workout 1 week 3 Strong Curves, made a cup of tea and heated the well earned pop-tart 😍.
15 jan: 85.6 kg; Walked for an hour to get me some daycream on sale.... ate 190 kcal above schedule and kept myself busy planning a holiday in November in Mexico and Belize.
16 jan: 85.7 kg; Strong Curves week 3 workout 2 🏋️♀️, but that was about it. Today I go back to work again......
17 jan: 85.5 kg; firts day at work, only walked 1800 steps and drank only 1 Liter of fluids .

R100 1/7/20 end weight 217.2lb (-1.6lb)
Start Weight- 218.8lb
Current Weight- 217.2lb
End of Round 101 Goal- 213lb
Ultimate Goal- 173lb
I’ve started some good healthy habits in Round 100- looking forward to continuing these for the next 10 days. Didn’t lose the amount of weight I wanted to in the last round, but did weigh in at 216 a few days ago. Looking for a ‘mini whoosh’ this 10 days to get me losing some lb!!! Aim is to go to the gym 8 times in the 10 days, always stay under my calorie goal and eat my dinners a bit earlier (not currently eating until after 8pm).
Day/Weight/Comment
1/8 - 216.0 lb (-1.2lb) A great start to the 10 days. Came in just below the daily calories allowance. Missed the gym due to football coaching going on too long. Today I plan to do some cardio at the gym, stick to my calories and avoid any treats on the staff room table.
1/9 -216.6lb- not bothered about the slight weight gain, however; disappointed in myself that I missed a gym session (I could have found time) and are a couple of biscuits from the staff room. Other than that stuck to my calories/ more water needed today- this really is my Achilles heel! Early finish at work today so gym around lunchtime for a heavy leg session. First time at the pub for a month tonight since I became AF a month ago. Lime and soda all the way- never want to go back to what I was!!!
1/10 - 215.4lb (-1.2lb). A good loss yesterday after a few days of no movement. Went to the pub last night and drank AF Becks. Didn’t miss ‘normal’ beer in the slightest, even if the becks didn’t taste that amazing. Ate 200 cals over my allowance, but did gain back lots of exercise calories through the gym and a very active football session. Aim for today is to stay under the calorie goal, go to the gym and drink 2.5l of water.
1/11 - 215.8lb (+.4lb) Wasn’t really feeling it yesterday! Only packed a very small lunch which meant I consumed far too much food after work. Hummous and breadstick binge 🙄. Drank lots of water but didn’t make the gym due to my girlfriend not feeling great (She’s 38 weeks pregnant)
Back to the gym today, do some cardio, deadlifts and some isolation activities. Aim is to be in the 214s by Monday.
1/12 - 215.8lb . Another day of feeling quite groggy. No gym yesterday, must be in the ‘nesting phase’ as all I seem to want to do is clean. Made the most amazing beef and celeriac stew last night, limited my portion and only had a small amount of potato. I WILL go to the gym today- no excuses. Light day planned today.
1/13 - 215.8lb. Ate very healthily today and drank quite a bit of water. Back to work today which always presents its problems with regards to fluid intake. Can never seem to get enough in. Might need to re-assess my 10 day goal. I think, because I’ve got a lot of weight to lose (42 pound) that it would come off quickly. Need to be more realistic and happy to lose 1.5lb a week.
1/14 - 215.2 (-0.6lb) Drank a bit more water than usual, although still need to drink more. Under my calorie goal, and ate a very healthy dinner. Food is all logged in advance for today- just got to stick to it.
1/15 - 214.0 (-1.2lb) Happy with that after a few days of same (ish) weight. Stuck to all my calorie goals yesterday. More of the same today- must continue to up my water intake. Managed to get 1.5 l yesterday, will
make sure I have 2l.
1/16 - 213.8 (-0.2lb) Happy to see another loss today- nice to see it ticking along. Aim to not binge after work and burn some extra calories at football coaching by being more active and running around more. Food is programmed in and I won’t go over. Would
love to see another loss tomorrow, no matter how small that may be.
1/17 - 212.8lb (-1.0lb). A super way to end the round. A total of 4.4lbs lost in 10 days is a more than successful achievement for me. Love these 10 day ‘challenges’- for me it keeps me focused and each round feels like a new challenge. Awesome way to keep me motivated. Aim for today is to continue being AF- Friday nights after work are sometimes a challenge. I just need to remember how much better I feel for not drinking a drop of alcohol. Hope everybody ends the challenge with a loss 🤞10 -
R100 1/7/20 -1.7 kg (3.7 lbs)

01/17 78.9 kg What a nice surprise! Getting down to 78 kg at some point is a first goal. I didn't expect at all it moving forward so quickly. Now I have already the 78 looking at me at the weigh-in:-)
I lost 2.8 kg/ 6.2 lbs in this challenge10 -

01/08 133.8 – 10.61 miles walked yesterday, all macros & calories well in green.
01/09 133.8 - 14.39 miles walked yesterday plus an hours yoga class. All calories & macros well in green.
01/10 133.8 - 5.92 miles walked yesterday & 3 hours chasing up and down and around soft play with my gorgeous two toddler grandchildren & I ache today!! Calories under, but carbs 61 over.
01/11 134.8 – 11.21 miles walked, all macros well in green.
01/12 134.8 – 3.21 miles walked yesterday and 3.5 hours travelling up to celebrate DD's birthday and start of her maternity leave with all our family. Eat over calories & macros, but lovely family time !
01/13 134.8 – 8.9 miles walked yesterday, all calories & macros in green.
01/14 135.6 – 9.85 miles walked, way much too much chocolate, but managed to keep excess calories within 50 & carbs too.
01/15 135.6 – 13.31 miles walked yesterday, all macros in green only 1 quality street chocolate! No yoga today – teacher has a course, will try to attend an alternative class on Friday am.
01/16 135.6 – 11.35 miles walked, really struggling with my food “addiction” at the moment, start off each morning with all good intentions, but end up going to pot . Need to get my head into gear and restart the fight. Sigh, why do I keep sabotaging myself !!
01/17 137.2 - 2.09 miles walked, met up with DD,DS & 2 little DGC for tots rock climbing followed by lunch out. Not good food choices and in addition a further self sabotage with cookie jar! Sigh! Not gonna dwell on this, yet again trying to move on, have pre planned & logged today's food, I know I will feel better when I get back on track & I will sleep better too as stomach kept me awake for hours last night! No more self pity – lets move on. 3.8 pounds up from end of last round

1/13 157 Stayed under in calories, yesterday, too. Somehow I controlled my binge urge, tonight. Only over by 83 calories, today.
1/14 156.2 Only over in calories, yesterday, buy 83. Been drinking 4 glasses of water daily. Almost stopped, today, & gave in to the craving of wonderful foods that were smelling so good as I was driving thru an area that has some wonderful restaurants. Then, later while driving got sleepy & had to eat to stay awake.. could have been much worse.

2 - Run (or gym) 2x week - yoga 1x week
3 - Water 1.5l
4 - 10.000 steps
Date – Weight in of the morning– Summary of the previous day:
01/08 153.6 (-1.2) 11.136 steps.
01/09 153.6 (-0.0) 9636 steps. Not the best choices for dinner last night and I was over calories but no gain so that'll do I should post my daily calories for accountability, just like my daily weight I need to get some veggies in, I haven't been shopping in nearly a week and my fridge is about empty, it'll help make some better choices! Today is another easy day, I'm hoping the weather will improve enough to be able to go for a walk during my lunch break.
01/10 154.6 (+1.0),1228 cal, 10.410 steps. TOM so no surprise there and I ate a late dinner which contributed to that gain (normally I don't eat after 6pm). I expect it to drop at the end of the TOM. Yesterday was a good day in the end, I walked home in the evening to get some steps in. Migraines are back so they've upped the medication dosage, but as it's all stress related so I'm not sure that's the best way to treat it. I've booked a week in Tunisia for Easter where I plan to do nothing but read and chill
01/11 154.6 (-0.0)
01/12 153.0 (-1.6) good drop, TOM over so I expected it
01/13 152.2 (-0.8) 1216 cal, 9500 steps + gym. My lowest weight so far! Yesterday was a god day, healthy food and 1h at the gym doing cardio and elliptical. I found some old jeans and surprisingly not only did they fit but they're even a little big so that's a win I'm very happy with. Today I've planned an easy day, I might walk home from work this evening if the weather stays reasonable.
01/14 152.2 (-0.0) 1198 cal, 8642 steps. Stayed on track yesterday, although I didn't get all my steps in. I'm happy to see this number two days in a row, I'm hoping it'll be my go to weight after staying in the 154.x for so long. With my daughter away and no junk food (actually hardly any food) at home it's so much easier to stay on track I'm also taking the time to do a big clean at home, so I've not been to the gym as much as I planned.
01/15 150.8 (-1.4) 1266 cal, 7412 steps. Big drop there but I don't expect it to stay there. Yesterday I skipped dinner as I made the typical mistake of eating a snack mid-afternoon without checking the calories before, I had no idea candied ginger would be 600 cal Although with that woosh maybe I should do it more often Also I think I'm coming down with something, a head cold or such, I woke up feeling quite unwell
01/16 150.8 (-0.0) 1182 cal, 7.773 steps. I'm pleased I've stayed at this weight, I went out to dinner yesterday but told my friends I wasn't feeling well so just had tea. I'll admit that it was only partially true, I didn't fancy eating a late dinner when I've been doing so well this round, so I had had something healthy before going out.
01/17 150.8 (-0.0). 1188 Cal, 7070 steps. I have to admit I'm really pleased by this end of round results, it's the biggest drop I've had in fact since starting the rounds. Also I normally weight in KG and it's under 70kg for me which I've always had a problem getting under and I realised the other day that I was at 68.4kg, something I haven't seen in about 10 years. It's certainly a good start to 2020

01/08 266.8 I’ll admit I let the scale get me a little down this morning. However, as I was putting together the document that I use for this challenge I realized that I’m doing great. I’m only up about a pound and half from my pre break round low. I was certain that my eating habits over the holidays had gained me an honest pound or two, so where I am now makes perfect sense. I’ve only been fully back on track for a week and I don’t know what I expected. Thank you GrandmaJackie for this challenge it helped me this morning.
01/09 266.6 I was able to add resistance on my bike the other day plus a new workout and I’m still feeling it a bit. I was a little less active yesterday because my legs felt stiff. I’m hopeful of at least getting a bit more walking in today.
01/10 267.4 I went out to dinner with the hubby, it was in calorie but very sodium filled.
01/11 267.6
01/12 266.0 Yay a drop! I thought for sure I’d bounce again; I went a smidge over calories yesterday and didn’t move much. However, I did set my calories back to being sedentary for the time being so maybe that helped some. I knew that I would be out and about less this weekend because of the weather and I have trouble getting in the same step count inside as I do when I can walk outside.
01/13 267.2 One word, pizza.
01/14 265.6 Yay. I was worried I’d see another bounce because I had an early weigh in. I’m trying a new schedule in hopes of getting more than five hours of broken sleep a night.
01/15 265.6 I’m happy with this because I’m trying to adjust to the new schedule. I slept better, but my eating was a little off. I’m sure I’ll adapt soon, it’s just a matter of figuring out when I eat to avoid being overly hungry at any given point in the day.
01/16 264.6 Yay! I was hungry half the day yesterday because I still haven’t figured out the timing of eating with the earlier night. I think I have everything pinned down now and I’m testing it out today. On the plus though the new schedule does seem to be helping my sleep since I’m now getting up at 3am so my husband isn’t waking me up when he gets ready to go to work. Also, my house is never cleaner, who knew that it takes half the time to clean when kids, dogs, and mother in law aren’t getting in the way.
01/17 266.0 Yesterday’s plan did not work out, I ended the day high in carbs and sodium, barely in calories, and eating dinner late. It’s okay though I know this is all water that will probably be gone in a day or two.

Day/Weight/Comment
01/08 - 146.5 - Good start to the round. The boss is taking us to lunch at an Italian restaurant today, so I'll check the menu before we go to see the best options.
01/09 - 146.5 - I'm glad to see the sodium didn't bump me up today. I have to have an ingrown toenail removed and the nailbed sealed today, so that will probably limit the amount of steps I have over the next couple days. I'm planning to use our old exercise bike and rowing machine more than I usually do to make up for the lack of movement.
01/10 - 147 - This bump up could be due to a number of things. I hate going into the weekend at a higher weight, but this should just make me pay more attention to what I'm eating. Happy Friday!
01/11 - 147
01/12 - 146.5
01/13 - 146.5 - I had a crazy weekend. We had a bad windstorm Saturday night that resulted in a lot of damage to our 100 foot pine trees lining our back yard. We spent yesterday cleaning up the branches, patching part of the fence, and contracting with a landscaper to take out a damaged tree before it falls over. The good news is that I did not stress eat and I did get in a lot of exercise!
01/14 - 146.5 - My toe was bothering me yesterday due to the activity on Sunday, so I hopped on our exercise bike and pedaled for about a half hour last night.
01/15 - 147 - There is no reason for the bump, other than I had a lean pocket for lunch yesterday. I was within calories so I'll just be drinking extra water today to take care of the extra sodium and carbs. I also have a healthier lunch packed today.
01/16 - 147.5 - I've been weighing myself daily for almost 2 years now. I am very used to the unexplained ups and downs. I did NOT see this coming, in fact I'd hoped I'd see 146. All I can think is that my eyeball measurements are skewed when I'm preparing my dinner. Time to bring my food scale back out.
01/17 - 147 - Right back where I started this round. I did pull out the scale and measuring spoons last night and I will continue to do so until I'm back in the middle of my maintenance weight. Hopefully, next round I will see a loss.

1/10: DNW
1/11: 223.7 rough days Thursday and Friday. I went off the rail for some reason. Still not sure why. Back on track now.
1/12: 222.2 feeling back on track and more in control of my emotions. Dang, this is tough stuff.
1/13: 221.8 We had lunch at Santa Fe after church yesterday. It is possible to eat semi-healthy at restaurants but it’s so hard to resist when everyone else is eating whatever they want. I chose a grilled chicken breast, steamed broccoli, and a side salad with dressing on the side (only dipping salad into the dressing). I did have a dinner roll with butter but also made sure to log it and ate light in the evening.
1/14: 221.9
1/15: 221.9 – lots of exercise yesterday with walking the dogs two times
1/16: 221.3 – lots of exercise yesterday as well, walking dogs, biking, helping a friend move. My back was killing me last night!
1/17: 221.4 – spontaneous restaurant food yesterday after I got my hair done, I should have consumed more water. I’m changing my overall weight loss goal to 175. Once I get there it may change again. We’ll see. I'm happy with the loss this round of 2.3; and the loss of 7.4 for the two rounds. I didn't make my 10-day goal so I will carry that on for the next round. This challenge really helps keep me focused on staying on my plan.
Have a great day!

01/08-172.4 not a bad start!
01/09-173.2 first uptick is always kind of a bummer
01/10-173.4 well I was having a major case of the snackies yesterday so I'm not suprised didn't go too crazy with calories but maybe ate a bit more than my BMR, Today will be better.
01/11-175.6pizza......and wine 😭
01/12-175.7 this is not accurate! I forgot to weigh in today until after I ate so I think im probably in an ok place! I randomly tried intermittent fasting today since I had kind of a crazy morning and i think i like it! This is coming from a big big breakfast supporter and a person who loves cream in my coffee. Might just give it a go tomorrow too!
01/13-173.4doing another day of IF
01/14-174 not in love with this number but im going to see what happenes ate reasonably didnt work out yet this week, still trying IF.
01/15-173.4 🤷
01/16-173.2 Kind of annoyed.... Went over calories one day 5 days ago.... Hoping for a big drop soon!
01/17-172.8 not much of a loss but a loss none the less I guess I'll take it.

Day/Weight/Comment
01/08. 177.4
I've weighed in at what's typically my heaviest time of day. While the number distresses me, this change will provide a built in cushion of a few pounds when I'm back at my normal weight.
01/09. 177.2
No weight loss goal for the round. My focus is to avoid eating out and having processed foods at home. When I stick with this and get my exercise in the scale will eventually cooperate. As usual it will happen painfully slow but fat loss will happen.
01/10. 176.4
I ate until it hurt yesterday but my calories and macros landed where they should. Unprepared and living without a plan never works for me. Today I'll be ready.
01/11. 175.6
I did well yesterday with the exception of a very late dinner. This is no big deal since I'm following a 16/8 Intermittent fasting program for three days filled by one non fasting day. Dinner crossed into my non fasting day leaving my program in tact.
01/12. 173.6
An early weigh in has me a bit lighter than reality but I'm more focused on size than pounds. Weight is an objective measure for posting but a perfectly fitting wardrobe is my goal.
01/13. 174.2
I'm expecting a hellish start to my week so beforehand I want to get my weigh in done. Lately I've let everything get in the way of my personal needs but not this time. Today's 0.6 gain is as artificial as yesterday's 2.0 loss because of the varying times of day. (However, I still feel hurt whenever the scale goes up.)I'm outside of my time restricted eating zone this morning but I'll make it up on the other end. So far it's been a good week. My appetite is under control and my macros are on point.
01/14. 173.4
Yesterday I screwed up in such a way that to provide an accurate description in the words I would normally use would be far too rude for this forum. While both fast and keto are done for, calorie average is ok. Today has been better but it's early yet. My danger zone will not begin for hours. Lately I've not felt much inner strength but I'm going to fake it. Doing right when I would rather do wrong will plague me this evening. Nonetheless I must work at it. The struggle continues and I know I'll succeed.
Thanks so much MFP🤩Friends for the support and feed back. While I haven't had time to read posts I've seen the notices. I'll borrow from your strength today.
01/15. 174.6
The past day although better than the day before was poor. I caved easily without good reason because I've conveniently "forgotten" that I am on a diet for life. This is not a lifestyle choice it is a necessity. I'm determined to regaining my vigilance for doing what works. A major attitude adjustment is in progress.
01/16. 174.6
Calories fine. Macros shameful. My head is still not in the game but I'm working on my obstacles. I've been my own worst enemy after having felt so positive about getting my diet for life back on track. I'm working on the things that are derailing my progress. I'll soon be back to fasting and full on keto. I need this too badly to screw up. Long term health and success means everything to me.
01/17. 177.2
I've grown tired of listening to myself b!tch&moan so I've made a few changes this morning. It means an earlier weigh in than I prefer; but, if it deters more ridiculous weeks like this one it is well worth it. Carb count is still out of control but thankfully my calorie average is perfection.
I've haven't shared my snooze worthy story but here's my too long condensed version.
As a very active fat kid I learned what works for me in my early teens. Low carb & low fat dropped the pounds and weighing daily kept them away. As an adult I noted my eating went against so called "nutritional science" and I tried to eat healthy according to the FDA. Then I listened to women's body image gurus that said daily weight was bad for self esteem. The result was fat, to obese, to morbidly obese. With the advent of vanity sizeing its easy to ignore reality. Especially when frequent complements on your stylish fashion sense confirm your self image and you don't feel fat.
Fortunately an excellent doctor and rouex-en-y gastric bypass surgery got me back on track. Despite what my surgeon called my "metabolic challenges", I lost the fat painfully slow. I returned to doing what's right for me as adjusted for changes to my metabolism, and for more accurate knowledge of the mechanism of obesity. I've kept most of the fat off for 11 years. However, for the last two my clothes have been tight and I've been in a yo yo state. Refusing to buy larger clothes has been my saving grace.
Like before, I dropped habits that worked for me personally. Many don't seem to make sense like getting up three hours earlier than necessary. I don't know why but it makes a difference all day.
Rather than ask why I'm just going to do what works. The only answer I need today is it works. The "it" may seem irrelevant but figuring out the why and how of things is impeding my progress. I'm finding my way back to common sense.

1/10: 280.8 (+.2 oz) ( increase) did some extra walking yesterday. Still having problems with retaining water. Which I'm a little worried might make me show an increase in weight. Which is what happens sometimes, but the water will go away and than show the true weight loss. Might not happen this round. My legs are really swollen.
1/11: 278.6 (-2.2 ) I'm very happy that the water I've been retaining is finally starting to come off.
1/12: 282.8 (+4.2) Yes, I've gained. Doctor put me on a medication and it does cause you to retain water. Untill my body gets used to it and then I'll start losing all the water and keep it off. Wish it would happen sooner than later. 😩
.
1/13: 281.4 (-1.4 lb) loss from last week. Hopefully the water is finally coming off and will continue to and stay off. My goal for this round was 2 to 3 lbs loss. I've lost (-2.4 lbs) from start weight.(mostly water weight) Hoping to lose 1 or 2 lbs of real weight, once water is finished coming off. Hopefully before R101 is over in 4 days.
1/14: 281.4 (-0.0) No oh well. 😩 I'll Keep at it and stay positive. 😃
1/15: 281.6 (+0.2) Not bothered by a 0.2 oz gain. Still have 2 days to lose some weight. Either way it's nice for any weight-loss. Whether it be water or real lbs lost. Count down to end of R101. Wish everyone the best on the final stretch of this round. 😊💕
1/16: DNW~ I fell down really hard and hurt my knees and legs. I'm very sore and bruised and I won't be doing much today. I'll try to weigh in tomorrow since it's the last one this round.
1/17: 280 (-1.6 ) . I've lost a total of (3.8 lbs) this round. NSV: lost inches around the waist and hips and my clothes are getting bigger.10 -

01/15 - 176.6
01/16 - 176.6
01/17 - 176.5 Rowed 30 mins. 1 hour of shoveling snow. 1.9 pounds lost in Round 101
Goal was 174.0 which was too aggressive for me - will be more realistic in Round 102
Round 10101/08 - 178.7 I'm very happy the small increase still kept me solidly in the 170's and didn't bounce back to 180's! Increased my calories yesterday intentionally to 1437. Rowed 30 mins. Did some reps with free weights. Not enough water. Excited for a day of healthy eating and lots of water!
01/09 - 178.7 My body has decided it wants to continue to have its own little private party with this weight for a while longer. I wanted to say how inspiring y'all are. I was looking at some of your posts this morning and the amount of weight you have lost and how positive you have been throughout the ups and downs, really amazing! I'm so glad I found this group.
01/10 - 177.9 Yay! I hope that's it for 178 - we shall see. IF 18 hrs, 1143 calories and rowed 30 mins. Yesterday was 14 days of sticking to it, which for me is amazing. I'm usually off it by the 5th day. I've had no sugar or processed food for these 14 days which has helped my cravings tremendously. One other thing I stopped quite a while ago that helped with cravings was diet coke. That had to be one of the best things I've done for my health. It took me having surgery to scare me off the stuff.
01/11 - 177.7 IF 18 hrs. I finally had 64oz water and lots of vegies. I'm trying to work on both of these. I've been making lots of casseroles with chicken or ground beef I get from the local farmer and I throw tons of vegies into it, add an ounce of cheese and use chicken broth. I add a few potatoes to smash up to thicken it, then bake it. It's really good and lasts for days.
01/12 - 177.8 IF 17.5 hrs, 30 min row, free weights, 64oz+ water, lots of vegies. Goal of 174 might have been a little optimistic We soon shall see. Either way, I'm doing all the right things, and going in the right direction.
01/13 - 177.5 IF 18.5 hrs, 64+oz water and lots of vegies (3rd day of both of these - creating a habit? I hope so), took a day off from any exercise.
01/14 - 176.8 IF 18 hrs, rowed 30 mins. Calories 1114. I still have cravings but like I've said before, they have subsided so much from IF and not having sugar or processed food. It feels so good to be control of my eating after being out of control for soooo long. I can't believe how much better I feel after 19 days. I can't imagine how I'm going to feel after 6 months. I wrote a bunch of weight loss motivational sayings down from Pinterest when I started and read thru them periodically. This one is standing out today: If I quit now I'll soon be where I started, and when I started I so desperately wanted to be where I am now. I am so happy to be where I am now 19 days in and feeling like I can do this thing!
01/15 - 176.6 IF 19 Hrs, free weights. I saw someone else write about not being able to handle sugar, and I'm sure many of us are like this, but I can not have one bite of sugar or I'm done. If I can't have the entire box of cookies, I don't want even one, because my cravings will be so horrible. So, yesterday, I wanted something sweet and had frozen blue berries and raspberries and it did the trick - Yay!.
01/16 - 176.6 IF 19 hrs, walked, weights, lots of water, vegies and fruit. I don't know why I thought just because I lost water weight in the beginning that I would lose that much the next 10 days. I set my goal for 4.4 pounds - silly me . I will be a lot more realistic the next 10 days. As of today, I've almost lost 2 pounds for this 10 days, which I'm so happy I've stuck with it (thanks to this group)! I haven't made it 3 weeks in years!
