Hi everyone.
My name is Theresa from Taranaki NZ.
I've joined up after having short term success with weightloss. You name it I've tried it. Sadly I like food(who doesnt) In the cooking profession and now in management. Food+stress+menopause+ less floor time & more desk time= :"( weight gain.
Decided to go back to the basics, its not that I over eat,I just dont eat the right things when I do.
Feel free to make a friend of this podgey kiwi more accountable the better.
Cheers

Welcome, Theresa! You are in good company. I have used MFP off and on over the last year and it wasn't until this past October that I finally buckled down and got serious and really started making some positive changes for myself. Only then did the weight start to budge and come off.

As you said, back to basics! For me, it was finally realizing that all the things I did (ate, drank) before menopause and the diets I used successfully before were out the window now. I ditched the caffeine, excess salt, and really started being honest in my tracking of food and exercise, creating a small deficit every day. Not only have I unburdened myself from about 22 pounds so far, but my hot flashes have all but stopped and I feel more clear-headed than I have in years.

So, hang in there, track everything, and KNOW that in your heart and mind, you know what to do...and you'll do it. Sending you a friend request as well.
